Introduction
Since the modern education system is developing in harmony with global trends, the professional
development of primary education teachers also requires constant attention. One of the
international educational assessment programs, EGMA and EGRA systems serve to assess the
math and reading literacy of elementary school students. The introduction of these programs into
the national education system also serves to promote professional competence of primary
education teachers.
Research methodology.
This research work uses scientific and theoretical research, surveys of professors and students
working in the field, scientific work of research scientists on the topic and comparative analysis.
Analysis and results discussion.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. As Mirziyoyev noted,"we consider it our first-class
task to improve the activities of all branches of the educational and educational system on the

of the practical steps taken in this regard is the adoption of a government decision on the
organization of international research in the field of assessing the quality of education in the
public education system, the establishment of cooperation relations with a prestigious
organization, such as the International Association for the assessment of educational
achievements (IYEA).
Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of December 8, 2018 No. 997 “on the organization of
international research in the field of assessment of the quality of education in the public
education system”was adopted. In accordance with the resolution, international research on the
following international assessment programs was established:
1) Progress in International Reading and Literacy Study (PIRLS) - assessment of the level of
reading and understanding of text by primary 4th graders;
2) Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) - assessment of the level of
assimilation of students in 4th and 8th grades in mathematics and Natural Sciences;
3) the Programme for International Student Assessment (RISA) is an assessment of the literacy
rate of 15 - year-olds in reading, mathematics and Natural Sciences.
PIRLS (English – Rrogress in International Reading Literacy Study – an international study that
determines the level of reading and understanding of text) the purpose of this international study
is to identify and evaluate the specific characteristics of the educational system that cause
students to achieve various achievements, as well as the preparation of Primary School students
for reading and receiving text in states consisting of In other words, it is a major international
assessment program that allows international comparison of data on the extent to which Primary
School students have developed reading comprehension skills, providing information on public

School students have developed reading comprehension skills, providing information on public
policy in education to improve reading and teaching. PIRLS also represents two comprehensive
goals that make up the vast majority of schooling by young students, both in and out of school,
i.e., the assessment of the skills of gaining artistic experience, obtaining and using information. It
can also be said that this program keeps pace with the Times and improves its assessment criteria
in accordance with modern requirements. As an example, it is appropriate to say that in a study
in 2021, students plan to submit assignments in digital format for the first time. Along with the
digital format transition, changes such as computer evaluation of ePIRLS online reading
managed in the internet environment are also envisaged. Of course, such research is of great
importance for workers in the field of public education, scientists, Methodists, teachers, parents
and representatives of the public. PIRLS research is coordinated by the international institutes of
Education (IEA). Organized by the IEA - International Association for the Evaluation of
Educational Achievement. All responsibility for the organization of the international study lies
with Chestnut Hill (Maccachucetc, USA) Boston College. Preparation of collars for research is
carried out in the data center of Germany (Hamburg). The survey was first conducted in 2001,
with the survey taking place every 5 years. PIRLS states that the different countries involved in
the study have different ages of admission of schoolchildren to the primary class. In many
countries, the school is admitted from the age of six and the fourth grade is completed at the age
of 10.5.
Conclusions and suggestions
International education programs are of great importance in improving the professional trajectory
of teachers of primary education. Through the effective implementation of EGMA and EGRA
systems, the quality of education can be increased, the professional development of teachers and
the literacy of students can be brought to a high level. In the future, it is advisable to carry out
research on the implementation of these programs on a larger scale.
