Abstract:

The article explores the role of improvisation in the process of developing communication skills among

student teachers. Improvisation, as an active learning method, provides unique opportunities for developing
interpersonal skills, adaptation to changing environments, and emotional control. The author conducted an
experimental study during which students of the Faculty of Education participated in specially designed
improvisation training. The results showed significant improvements among participants in the areas of self-
confidence, communication effectiveness, and creative thinking ability. The improvisation approach
demonstrates its potential as an effective means of developing the communication competencies necessary for

Introduction:

In

the

modern

world,

where

communication plays an important role in all spheres of
life, the development of communication skills becomes
a necessity, especially for future teachers. One
effective way to build effective communication skills is
to use improvisation. Improvisation is spontaneous
creative expression in which participants create and
develop ideas without a pre-prepared script or plan.
When it comes to learning, improv helps students
develop the skills of active listening, empathy, self-
confidence, quick thinking, and adaptability to
changing situations

all of which are necessary for

successful communication with students, colleagues,
and parents.

The first step in using improvisation to develop
communication skills is to create a safe and supportive
environment. Students should feel free to express their
thoughts and ideas without fear of evaluation or
criticism [1]. Improvisational games and exercises help
to ease the situation and make the learning process
more comfortable and interesting. This is followed by
the development of the main elements of
communication. Improvisation exercises can include
working on non-verbal cues such as gestures, facial

expressions, voice intonation, active listening and
empathic skills. These skills not only help teachers
communicate effectively with students, but also create
a comfortable classroom environment.

In addition, improvisation teaches students to be
flexible and adaptable. In the real world, situations can
change in an instant and it is important to be able to
adapt quickly to new conditions. Improvisation
exercises teach this skill by helping future teachers
prepare for any challenges they may face in their
careers

[2].

In

the

modern world, where

communication is becoming more and more important,
the development of communication skills is becoming
one of the main tasks of education. This is especially
important for future teachers who work with diverse
audiences that require flexibility, tolerance, and
effective communication skills. In this regard, the use of
improvisation as a teaching method is of particular
importance. The practice of improvisation teaches
future teachers to be flexible, flexible and confident in
situations where they do not have a pre-prepared plan.

First, improvisation teaches the ability to quickly
perceive and respond to new information. It develops
the understanding and flexibility skills that are essential

for communicating effectively with students in a variety
of learning situations.

Second, the practice of improvisation improves the
ability to express one's thoughts and ideas clearly and
effectively. Future teachers learn to believe in
themselves and their communication skills, which will
help them become more authoritative and influential
in the educational process.

In addition, improvisation helps develop empathy and
understanding.

Participating

in

improvisational

exercises helps future teachers to better understand
others' points of view and to find a common language
with different audiences.

Improvisation teaches tolerance to unexpected events
and failures. During the internship, students learn that
even if something doesn't go according to plan, they
can always find a way to adapt and move on [3]. Thus,
the use of improvisation in the training of future
teachers is a powerful tool for developing their
communication skills. This approach not only helps
them become more confident and flexible in their
professional activities, but also develops in them the
important qualities of leadership, empathy and
tolerance. Improvisation is not only a characteristic of
acting, but also a powerful tool for developing
communication skills in future teachers [4]. In an
educational environment where new situations and
non-standard questions arise every day, the ability to
improvise is the key to successful communication with
students, colleagues and parents.

The use of improvisation in the pedagogical process
helps to develop several important aspects of
communication. It helps to develop self-confidence.
Teachers with experience in improvisation are more
open to new situations and prepared for unexpected
events, which helps them feel confident when
communicating

with

different

audiences.

Improvisation develops empathy and flexibility skills.
Teachers who master the art of improvisation are more
sensitive to their students' needs and feelings, and
better at responding to them in real time, creating a
more effective and efficient learning environment. This
is the development of creativity. Improvisation requires
rapid generation of ideas and solutions in real-time,
which helps foster creative thinking among future
teachers [5]. They learn to see educational problems
from different points of view and find non-standard
approaches to solving them.

How to include improvisation in pedagogical practice?
There are several approaches. First, pedagogic
programs may include special courses and training in
improvisation for prospective student teachers. These
courses may include a variety of games, exercises, and

simulations of situations that teachers encounter in
real life.

In addition, the use of improvisation in education
creates an atmosphere of openness and trust in the
classroom. Students see their teacher as willing to
adapt to their needs and engage in communication that
helps them learn more effectively. By studying
improvisation, future teachers learn to listen to the
needs and wants of their students, which makes them
more empathetic and attentive to individual
differences. This skill is especially important for future
teachers, because the success of their professional
activities depends on the level of communication skills.
One of the effective ways to develop communication
skills is to use improvisation.

In teacher training, improvisation is not only a method
of developing creative thinking, but also a powerful tool
for teaching the ability to quickly adapt to changing
conditions and find non-standard solutions in the
process of communication. This approach allows future
teachers to go beyond the standard educational
scenarios and form the flexibility of thinking that is very
important for working in the modern dynamic
educational environment.

The benefits of improvisation for communication skills

Development of oral skills. Improvisation requires
participants to choose words and constructions quickly,
which helps improve speaking skills and expand
vocabulary.

Improve non-verbal communication. In the process of
improvisation, gestures, facial expressions, intonations
are of great importance, which help teachers to better
control their non-verbal signals and interpret students'
non-verbal signals.

The development of empathy. Participating in
improvisational exercises teaches future teachers to
understand and accept different perspectives, which
are important for creating an effective teaching
process.

Ability to work in a team. Improvisation often involves
group work, which develops the ability to listen to
others and respond appropriately to their ideas and
suggestions.

CONCLUSION

The use of improvisation in the training of future
teachers not only helps to develop communication
skills, but also prepares them for the real problems of
the modern educational environment. This makes the
learning process more interactive and inclusive, which
in turn increases the overall effectiveness of training
professionals. Using improvisation to develop
communication skills in future teachers is an effective

and interesting way to prepare for professional
activities. This method not only helps students gain
more confidence and practice in communication, but
also builds in them the important qualities of
leadership and flexibility necessary for successful work
in the modern educational environment.
