Phytotherapy with herb of harmala was carried out in 19 patients aged 8 to 15 years with chronic gen-eralized catarrhal gingivitis. The preparation was applied daily for 20 minutes in a 1% of hydrous solution for applications. 89.5% of examined patients were diagnosed chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis in periodon-tal index (PI), equal to 1.8. Over 1/3 examined patients were diagnosed mild and severe form of the disease. It is found that in the absence of inflammation the value of elektrobiopotentsials is an average of 1.3 mV, in gin-givitisitis it increases in 2 times. Judging by the reliable reduction of PI and GI and the improvement of perio-dontal microcirculation 1% of hydrous extract of the herb of harmala has a marked anti-inflammatory effect and can be used in the treatment of gingivitis.
