The use of modern technology in teaching foreign language is broadly understood
to includes: an innovative application of methods, tools, materials, devices system and
strategies which are directly relevant to English language teaching and lead to the
achievement of the desired goals. Nowadays, technology is generally accepted as an
important educational and a range of teaching and learning contexts, it is particularly true
of English language teaching since it affords a number of potential opportunities to
improve both the content and delivery of pedagogies typically associated with traditional
English language instruction. The use of technology in teaching English strengthens the
integrated view of the modern means system and association with other components
which benefits students by achieving the required results. The use of technology in
English language teaching has therefore become essential, especially in the wake of
unusual developments across numerous fields and disciplines. Moreover, schools are
provided with modern computers, electronic resources, internet access. This contributes
to the introduction of new pedagogical technologies in the teaching and educational
process. It is the use of innovative technologies in English language lessons is the main
sign of positive results of creative activity, which entails increased motivation of
students. The topic of English language teaching and learning has emerged as one of the
central issues of contemporary educational debate as studies have consistently
demonstrated poor standards of student achievement across all levels. Since the current
era is epitomized by the ubiquitous use of technology, it follows that technology has
penetrated the field of teaching on a worldwide scale.
In fact, since the most educational institutions have now absorbed such technology
into current and future curricula, technological and media-based pedagogies have amused
considerable prominence due to proven enhanced learning outcomes especially in
comparison with traditional teaching methods. It discussed different approaches and
techniques which can assist English language students to improve their learning skills by
using technology. Among these techniques are online English language learning web-

with the motive of ameliorating constraints and academic conflicting issues. We can now
bring learning to virtually any place on earth anytime for the purpose of achieving to
desirable learning outcomes. Technology has helped provide distance learners with
online communities, live chat rooms. All these allow pupils to collaborate and
communicate even though they are isolated in their own space. Pupils who grasp
concepts faster proceed and move along, without being held back by ones who need more
time and help for learning, such individual pacing is beneficial to all. Moreover,
technology produces quantifiable results and allows pupils to put into increase this
information quickly and with better results. Through the use of technology, pupils can
considerably save time and increase their productivity. Both these points justify the
higher costs of advanced technological tools.
To sum up, Education, learning and teaching were considered impossible without
a teacher, books and chalkboards. Today, education and training have taken on a whole
new meaning. It is clear that despite genuine efforts to modernize traditional methods of
teaching English, residual absolute practices should be phased out and replaced by the
use of available technology on offer via computer, smart devices, display, audio-visual
materials and electronic approaches. We believe that this process can fully enrich student
thinking and practical language skills and promote improved efficacy in overall teaching
and learning.
