Abstract:
This article analyzes the market of sedatives registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan. According to the
State Register, the main share is accounted for by imported medicines, while the share of domestic manufacturers
is about 10%. Most of the drugs registered in the country were imported from India, Pakistan, China, and Russia.
The forms of medicines and market prices were also analyzed.

Introduction:
Accelerated development of the
pharmaceutical industry, a significant increase in the
volume of investments and exports attracted to the
industry, as well as the introduction of a new
management system to provide the population with
high-quality, safe, and effective medicines [2].
Sedative drugs have a calming effect on the nervous
system and are widely used in the treatment of stress,
anxiety, and sleep disorders. Today, the demand for
sedatives is growing among the population, as stress
and mental fatigue are among the most common
problems in the modern lifestyle[3].
Sedative medications affect the nervous system,
helping to reduce stress and anxiety. According to the
State Register in 2022-2025, there is a growing demand
for this type of drug in Uzbekistan[1].
Analysis of registered sedative drugs in 2022-2025
shows that domestic manufacturers are increasing
their market share, but imports still remain a
priority[4]. This article covers market analysis and
development opportunities
METHODS
During the analysis, data from the State Register for
2022-2025 and market analyses were studied.
Manufacturers, dosage forms, and marketing
strategies were evaluated using comparative analysis
and statistical methods[1].
RESULTS
According to the Register for 2022-2025, the main part
of sedatives on the Uzbek market is supplied through
imports. India, Pakistan, and China are the leaders,
however, the share of domestic producers increased
from 10% to 13%[1].

This situation indicates a strong dependence on
imports. The development of sedative production using
local medicinal plants in Uzbekistan will help reduce
import dependence.
Analysis by dosage forms
The distribution of registered sedatives by form in 2022-2025 is as follows[16]:

Figure 2. Distribution of sedatives by forms in Uzbekistan
The analysis showed that domestic manufacturers
mainly produce medicines in liquid and homeopathic
forms. The main reason for this is that the technology
for producing liquid preparations is much simpler and
more economical.
Price analysis
During 2022-2025, prices in the sedative market ranged
from 12,000 to 310,000 soums.
• The cheapest preparations are from local
manufacturers.
• The most expensive drugs were imported from
Germany, the USA, and Russia.
The prices of three sedatives for 2025 were analyzed,
as a result of which it was found that Modus is the most
expensive (108,000 soums), and Central-B is the
cheapest (59,000 soums). The price of Vamalyan is
71,000 soums, which is in the middle range. These price
differences can influence consumer choices[4].

It was established that imported medicines are 2.5 - 4
times more expensive than domestically produced
medicines.

CONCLUSION
According to the State Register of Registered Medicines
and Medical Devices in the Republic of Uzbekistan for
2022-2025, although domestic manufacturers have
increased their market share, imports remain a priority.
The share of domestic manufacturers is low, and mainly
liquid medicines are produced.
