В данной статье авторы акцентируют внимание на

актуальности и несравненной роли искусственного интеллекта в обучении

иностранным языкам. В этой статье также обсуждается важность

некоторых современных искусственных интеллектов в преподавании и

обучении.

Annotation.

In this article, the authors focus on the relevance and

incomparable role of artificial intelligence in teaching foreign languages. This
article also discusses the importance of several modern artificial intelligences in

teaching and learning.

Today, the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan is giving more

attention to improve the study of foreign languages. In particular, on 19.01.2022,

the Cabinet of Ministers adopted decision No. 34 "On additional measures to

improve the study of foreign languages". On the basis of this decision, all

educational institutions, including higher education, provide information on the

use of modern educational and scientific literature published in prestigious

foreign countries. On the basis of this decision, the development and introduction

of information and communication technologies, software projects to the

popularization of foreign languages is also established, that is, such effective work

is strengthened by law.

Technologies based on artificial intelligence are a clear example of this.

A new generation of such technologies was presented to the public this year and

is being improved day by day. Midjourney, ChatGPT, Teslabot, Teachable AI,

Duolingo, Smart Content, carnigie learning, IBM Watson Education, Knewton,

Cognii, Gradescope, JukinMedia, SPARKvue and other artificial intelligences are

used in education and training. We will try to give more information about its

importance in the education and teaching.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) has made significant strides in transforming the

field of education, particularly in teaching foreign languages. With the rapid

advancement of technology, AI tools and applications have expanded learning

possibilities, providing personalized, efficient, and interactive language learning

experiences. Research by a team at Carnegie Mellon University shows that speech

recognition technology embedded in language learning tools can provide accurate

assessments of pronunciation and fluency, leading to significant improvements in

oral language skills

One of the key roles of AI in teaching foreign languages is its ability to

provide personalized learning paths to students. AI-powered language learning

platforms can analyze individual learning patterns, strengths, and weaknesses,

and then customize the learning materials and exercises to suit the specific needs

of each learner. This personalized approach helps students progress at their own

pace, ensuring a more effective and engaging learning experience.

AI also plays a vital role in facilitating language practice and communication

through speech recognition technology. Language learning applications equipped

with AI can accurately assess pronunciation, intonation, and fluency, providing

instant feedback to learners. This real-time feedback helps learners improve their

speaking skills and gain confidence in using the language. Research by a team at

Carnegie Mellon University shows that speech recognition technology embedded

in language learning tools can provide accurate assessments of pronunciation and

fluency, leading to significant improvements in oral language skills.

In addition to speech recognition, AI language learning tools employ natural

language processing (NLP) algorithms to enhance reading, writing, and listening

skills. These tools can provide contextualized vocabulary and grammar lessons,

as well as offer language exercises that adapt to the learner

s level and pace,

ultimately facilitating comprehensive language acquisition.

Another significant benefit of AI in language education is its role in creating

immersive and interactive learning experiences. Virtual reality (VR) and

augmented reality (AR) technologies, integrated with AI, enable students to

engage in simulated real-world scenarios, such as ordering food at a restaurant or

navigating through a foreign city. By experiencing these scenarios in a virtual

environment, learners can improve their language skills while developing cultural

awareness and understanding.

Moreover, AI-powered language tutors and chatbots provide round-the-

clock assistance to language learners. These conversational agents can engage in

dialogues, answer questions, and provide explanations, offering learners

additional practice and support outside the traditional classroom setting.

While AI offers numerous advantages in language education, it is essential

to acknowledge its limitations. Despite its capabilities, AI cannot replace human

instructors and the authenticity of human interaction in language learning.

Language learning is a multifaceted process that involves cultural understanding,

emotional connections, and nuanced communication, aspects that AI might

struggle to replicate entirely. An analysis by The Association for Computational
Linguistics emphasizes the complementary role of AI in language education,

acknowledging the unique value of human interaction and cultural understanding

in language learning.

In conclusion, the role of AI in teaching foreign languages is undeniably

transformative. AI tools and applications have revolutionized language education

by providing personalized learning, interactive practice, and immersive

experiences. While AI may not replace traditional language instruction, it

complements it effectively and expands the opportunities for language learners

to improve their proficiency in a foreign language. As technology continues to

advance, the integration of AI in language education will undoubtedly play an
increasingly vital role in shaping the future of language learning.
