SOCIOLINGUISTIC PROFILE RESEARCH PAPER
This research paper explores the sociolinguistic profiles of learners in a sixth-grade classroom, focusing on the intersections between language, society, and individual characteristics. The study investigates the linguistic diversity within a group of Uzbek and Russian pupils learning English as a foreign language, highlighting the role of factors such as language background, socioeconomic status, and cultural identity in shaping their learning experiences. Two distinct learner subgroups are identified: one group of bilingual Russian-speaking students from urban, educated backgrounds, and another group of Uzbek-speaking students from monolingual, low socioeconomic backgrounds. Through analysis of these subgroups, the paper examines the influence of sociocultural dynamics on language learning behaviors and challenges. The study provides pedagogical and assessment implications, aiming to offer educators insights into adapting instructional techniques to accommodate the diverse needs and backgrounds of their students. By addressing these sociolinguistic dimensions, this paper contributes to understanding how language variety and social context affect language education and the notion of pedagogical implications and assessment implications are discussed.
NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING ELEMENTS IN ADVERTISING: CRAFTING PERSUASIVE DISCOURSE
This study explores the application of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) principles in advertising, focusing on how these elements enhance persuasive discourse. NLP is a psychological approach that examines the interplay between language, behavior, and thought patterns, providing valuable insights into consumer decision-making processes. The research aims to identify specific NLP techniques—such as anchoring, reframing, and the use of sensory language—and analyze their effectiveness in creating compelling advertising messages that resonate with target audiences. Through a mixed-methods approach, this study evaluates a selection of advertising campaigns that successfully employ NLP strategies. Qualitative analysis of consumer responses and quantitative assessments of campaign performance metrics reveal a significant correlation between the use of NLP elements and improved consumer engagement and conversion rates. The findings suggest that advertisements incorporating NLP techniques can effectively influence perceptions, emotions, and behaviors, ultimately leading to higher brand loyalty and sales. This research contributes to the understanding of how language and psychological frameworks can be strategically utilized in marketing to enhance persuasive communication. It highlights the need for advertisers to adopt NLP principles to craft messages that not only capture attention but also drive meaningful consumer interactions. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of integrating psychological insights into advertising practices, paving the way for future studies in the intersection of psychology and marketing.

ANTONYMIC NESTS IN TOPONYMIC SYSTEM OF MODERN RUSSIAN
In the approach to solving the problem of antonymy, two aspects of its study have been outlined. Antonymy can only be considered within the framework of linguistic phenomena, and in this case, the origins of antonymy lie in the features of the functioning of linguistic units in the process of communication, that is, in speech activity. On the other hand, antonymy can be considered in the aspect of the logical-semantic correlation of concepts denoted by linguistic units. A special place in the Russian language is occupied by antonyms - words that are opposite in meaning. Antonymy reflects an essential aspect of systemic relations in Russian vocabulary. Modern linguistics considers synonymy and antonymy as extreme and borderline cases of content interchangeability and opposition of words. While synonymous relations are characterized by semantic similarity, antonymic relations are characterized by semantic difference. The existence of antonyms in language lies in the nature of our perception of reality in all its contradictory complexity, in the unity and struggle of opposites. Therefore, contrasting words, as well as the concepts they denote, are not only opposites, but also closely related.
"WEAVING THE PAST INTO THE PRESENT: THE ART OF ALLUSION, PRECEDENT NAMES, EPIGRAPHS, AND REMINISCENCE IN LITERATURE"
This article explores the intertextual devices of allusion, precedent names, epigraphs, and reminiscence, focusing on how they create connections between literary works and previous texts or traditions. By referencing historical, mythological, or literary sources, these devices deepen the meaning and complexity of narratives. Examples from English and American literature, including Shakespeare, Eliot, Fitzgerald, Melville, and Morrison, demonstrate how these techniques enhance thematic development and engage readers in a larger literary conversation.

In this article, the points have been expressed to the scientific views and comments given in world linguistics based on the theories of scientists.
METHODS AND TOOLS FOR ASSESSING STUDENT COMPETENCIES
The article deals with the detailed information about Methods and tools for assessing student competencies. The accurate assessment of student competencies is crucial in modern education, as it allows educators to measure not only knowledge retention but also skills, attitudes, and critical thinking abilities. This paper explores various methods and tools used for assessing student competencies, including traditional assessments, performance-based assessments, and technology-enhanced assessments. Traditional methods, such as multiple-choice tests and written exams, remain popular but are often limited in their ability to evaluate higher-order thinking skills. In contrast, performance-based assessments—such as projects, presentations, and portfolios—offer a more comprehensive evaluation by focusing on the application of knowledge in real-world contexts. Technology-enhanced tools, such as digital simulations, e-portfolios, and automated feedback systems, provide innovative ways to measure competencies while increasing engagement and personalization. The paper also discusses the importance of aligning assessment tools with learning objectives and provides insights into the challenges associated with each method, including issues of reliability, validity, and scalability. By combining multiple assessment methods, educators can obtain a holistic view of student competencies, enabling targeted support and improved learning outcomes.
EXPLORING THE LINK BETWEEN TRANSLATION COMPETENCE AND HIGHER-ORDER THINKING SKILLS IN NOVICE TRANSLATORS
This study investigates the relationship between translation competence and higher-order thinking skills in novice translators. As translation requires not only linguistic proficiency but also critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, understanding this link is crucial for developing effective translation curricula. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative assessments of translation competence with qualitative analyses of students' higher-order thinking skills through case studies and reflective exercises. Findings reveal a significant correlation between translation competence and the application of higher-order thinking skills, suggesting that novice translators who demonstrate stronger analytical and evaluative skills produce higher-quality translations. The study emphasizes the need for educational frameworks that integrate higher-order thinking into translation training, fostering not only linguistic skills but also the cognitive capabilities essential for successful translation practices. Ultimately, this research contributes to the field of translation studies by highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to translator education that nurtures both language proficiency and critical thinking abilities.
