Linguacultural analysis of the concept "Family/shańaraq" in
English and Karakalpak languages refers to the examination of
how the idea of family is understood and expressed in these two

However, the specific expressions used in each language reveal

we can gain a deeper understanding of how different cultures
view and value the concept of family. Therefore, the article
aims to investigate linguacultural analysis of the concept
"family/shańaraq" in English and Karakalpak languages. The
result of the research depicts that even though English and

The concept of "family" or "shańaraq" in English and Karakalpak languages reflects
the cultural values and traditions of each society. In English, the term "family" refers to a
group of people related by blood or marriage who live together and share common goals
and values. The concept of family in English culture emphasizes the importance of
individualism and personal choice, where individuals have the freedom to choose their
own path in life [3,72-74].
In Karakalpak culture, the term "shańaraq" also refers to a group of people related
by blood or marriage, but it emphasizes the importance of collectivism and community.
The concept of family in Karakalpak culture is closely tied to the idea of hospitality and
generosity, where family members are expected to help each other and welcome guests
into their homes [5, 34].
In both cultures, the concept of family is deeply rooted in tradition and plays a
central role in shaping social norms and values. However, there are differences in how
each culture views the role of family in society. English culture tends to prioritize
individualism and personal choice, while Karakalpak culture places greater emphasis on
community and collective responsibility.
