Abstract:
The article examines the role and importance of modern technologies in increasing
students' motivation in learning foreign languages. Various technologies (gaming, virtual
reality, interactive resources, etc.) used to arouse students' interest in the educational process
and increase their activity are analyzed. The article also discusses the psychological and
pedagogical aspects of the correct use of technologies, methods of their effective integration
into the lesson process. Based on the results obtained, practical recommendations are given
for foreign language teachers and methodologists.

INTRODUCTION
Today, the study of foreign languages is of great importance on a global scale and is a
necessary skill for free activity in the field of international communication, science,
technology, and business. However, in many cases, students do not show sufficient interest in
learning foreign languages, their motivation is low, and as a result, the learning process is
ineffective. Various factors can cause a decrease in student motivation: boring lessons,
difficult grammar, non-practical materials, unfair assessment, etc. Therefore, foreign
language teachers are forced to search for new methods and means to make the learning
process more interesting and motivational. Modern technologies create great opportunities for
increasing student motivation. Games, virtual reality, interactive resources, and other
technologies make the learning process more interesting, interactive, and individualized.
I. The concept of motivation and its types
Motivation is a psychological process that occurs under the influence of internal and external
factors for a person to achieve a goal, start, continue and end an activity. Motivation is a force
that determines a person's actions, decisions, and behavior. It includes various motives, and
therefore there are many types of motivation. Main types of motivation:
1. Internal motivation (intrinsic motivation):
• In this type of motivation, a person acts for their inner satisfaction, interest, or personal
goals. For example, learning a language, because this process is interesting and satisfying for
oneself. Internal motivation is often associated with self-development, personal satisfaction,
and achieving one's goals.
2. External motivation:
• In this type of motivation, a person acts for external factors, such as rewards, recognition,
social status, or other external incentives. For example, students can prepare for lessons to get
good grades or receive praise from the teacher.
3. Material motivation:

• This type of motivation is associated with material incentives, such as money, gifts, or other
material benefits. Students can aim to obtain financial benefits by improving their knowledge.
4. Social motivation:
• In this type of motivation, a person strives to achieve social connections, friends, family
relationships, and social status. Students can strive to develop their social connections by
studying with their friends or joining social groups.
5. Emotional motivation:
• In this type of motivation, a person acts through their emotions, such as fear, hope, love, or
hatred. Students can manage and use their emotions to achieve their goals.
6. Cognitive motivation:
• In this type of motivation, a person acts based on their knowledge, thoughts, and decisions.
Students can strive to develop their cognitive abilities by increasing their knowledge and
learning new information [1, 1198].
Motivation is one of the main factors of human activity. It has various types, such as internal
and external motivation, material, social, emotional, and cognitive motivation. Motivation is
variable and depends on each person's personal experience, interests, and goals. Teachers and
trainers need to apply various strategies to increase motivation and take into account the
needs of students.
II. Modern technologies in increasing student motivation
Modern technologies play an important role in increasing student motivation. They help
make the learning process more interesting, interactive, and effective. Below are the main
aspects of modern technologies in increasing student motivation:
1. Interactivity: Modern technologies, such as interactive whiteboards, online platforms, and
mobile applications, allow students to actively participate in the learning process. This
attracts students' attention and encourages them to learn.
2. Interesting materials: Multimedia materials such as video lessons, animations, games, and
simulations increase students' interest. Through these materials, students can better
understand the topics and enjoy the learning process.
3. Flexibility: Modern technologies allow students to learn on time and at their own pace.
Students can choose materials according to their needs and manage the process of self-
learning.
4. Online communication: Through social networks, forums, and online communication
platforms, students have the opportunity to exchange their opinions, ask questions, and
communicate with each other. This develops students' social skills and encourages mutual
cooperation.
5. Self-assessment: With the help of modern technologies, students have the opportunity to
assess their knowledge and self-monitor. Through online tests and interactive assessment
tools, students can identify their strengths and weaknesses.
6. Innovative approaches: Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies
allow students to simulate real-life situations. This develops students' ability to apply
language in practice and makes the learning process more interesting.
7. Encouraging environment: An interactive and engaging environment created with the help
of modern technologies increases students' interest in learning. Students are more willing to
participate in the process of applying their knowledge in practice and learning new things.

8. Access to resources: Through modern technologies, students gain access to various
educational resources, such as online libraries, video lessons, and scientific articles. This
expands students' knowledge and increases their opportunities for self-learning [2, 247].
Modern technologies play an important role in increasing student motivation. They help
make the learning process more interesting, interactive, and effective, and also develop
students' self-learning and independent thinking skills. Teachers can increase student
motivation by correctly and effectively applying modern technologies.
III. Psychological and pedagogical aspects of the correct use of modern technologies
The correct use of modern technologies in the educational process is of great psychological
and pedagogical importance. Their effective application contributes to improving the learning
process of students, increasing motivation, and improving the quality of education. Below are
the psychological and pedagogical aspects of the correct use of modern technologies:
Modern technologies provide students with the opportunity for self-learning. Students can
choose materials that suit their interests and learn at their own pace, which increases their
self-confidence. Interactive and engaging technologies increase student motivation. Through
games, video lessons, and multimedia materials, students enjoy the learning process and
strive to expand their knowledge. With the help of modern technologies, students have the
opportunity to assess their knowledge and self-monitor. This reduces students' stress levels
and increases their confidence in their knowledge [3, 142].
Through online communication platforms and social networks, students have the opportunity
to exchange ideas and communicate with each other. This develops social skills and
strengthens student interaction.
Modern technologies allow teachers to adapt the educational process, taking into account the
individual needs of students. Teachers can organize lessons using various materials and
methods, taking into account the individual characteristics of each student. Modern
technologies allow for making lessons interactive. Students can actively participate in the
lesson, ask questions, and discuss, which attracts students' attention and makes the learning
process more effective [4, 885].
With the help of modern technologies, teachers can use various tools for assessing students'
knowledge and obtaining their opinions. This helps to identify the strengths and weaknesses
of students and makes it possible to improve the learning process. Thanks to modern
technologies, students have access to various educational resources, such as online libraries,
video lessons, and scientific articles. This expands students' knowledge and increases their
opportunities for self-learning.
The correct use of modern technologies in the educational process is important from a
psychological and pedagogical point of view. They help increase student motivation, create
opportunities for self-learning, and improve the quality of education. Teachers can make the
learning process of students more effective by correctly and effectively applying modern
technologies.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, modern technologies play an important role in increasing the motivation of
students in learning foreign languages. As indicated in the article, games, virtual reality,
interactive resources, and other technologies contribute to stimulating students' interest in the
learning process, increasing their activity, and improving their academic performance. When
using technologies, teachers must take into account the age characteristics of students, use
technologies in moderation, provide technical assistance to students, and ensure their safety.

Also, technologies should be viewed not as the main goal of the lesson, but as a means of
making the learning process more interesting and effective.
