We evaluate the ergonomics and usability of typical layouts, highlighting frequent design issues such as overly tight kitchens, constrained bathroom areas, single-sided natural lighting, and inefficient use of hallways. These observed patterns are then compared against Uzbek residential building norms and standards – for example, minimum room sizes and daylight requirements – to assess compliance and areas for improvement. Based on best practices in micro-apartment design and Uzbekistan’s building codes, the paper proposes design improvements to enhance compact unit livability, such as more open-plan configurations, multi-functional furniture integration, and better access to natural light. We further explore how generative design tools and AI-based approaches can optimize layouts for space efficiency and ergonomics, even beyond the solutions seen in current plans. The use of AI is illustrated through examples of floor plan generation and layout optimization, demonstrating potential innovative configurations that meet or exceed human design outcomes. HOW LISTENING SKILLS SUPPORT SPEAKING DEVELOPMENT
This article analyzes the crucial role of listening skills in the development of speaking ability. According to modern language learning theories and practical approaches, listening and speaking are interrelated and mutually reinforcing communicative skills. Through listening, learners are exposed to the phonetic, lexical, and grammatical structures of a language, allowing them to internalize pronunciation, intonation, stress, and speech flow. Therefore, effective listening serves as a foundation for oral communicative competence in language acquisition.Through listening, language learners perceive the natural rhythm of the language, acquire conversational patterns, and observe how words and expressions are used in context. This expands their vocabulary and prepares them to participate actively in communication. In particular, authentic listening materials—such as native speakers’ natural speech in interviews, podcasts, and conversations—enhance learners’ pronunciation and intonation, while boosting their confidence in constructing speech.Research indicates that active listening, by providing speech models, significantly improves language acquisition (Brown, 2001; Vandergrift, 2007). Furthermore, interactive listening tasks (such as question-answer exercises and dialogue-based activities) develop learners' ability to respond to information they have understood, thereby enhancing their ability to speak naturally and contextually. The article also examines effective strategies for developing speaking skills alongside listening during the language learning process. These include the shadowing technique, interactive audio lessons, and differential listening methods. All of these help learners build speech that is more fluent, accurate, and appropriate to the communicative context.

SCAFFOLDING TECHNIQUES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING
This paper explores the use of scaffolding techniques in English language learning, highlighting their importance in supporting learners as they progress through different stages of language acquisition. Scaffolding, rooted in sociocultural theory, provides temporary support structures that help learners accomplish tasks they might not be able to complete independently. This study investigates how scaffolding enhances vocabulary development, grammar acquisition, reading comprehension, speaking fluency, and writing proficiency. Drawing on empirical studies and classroom-based observations, the paper outlines various scaffolding strategies including modeling, questioning, visual aids, peer collaboration, and teacher feedback. Results suggest that effective scaffolding fosters learner autonomy, engagement, and academic success. The paper concludes by emphasizing the role of teacher awareness and reflective practice in delivering scaffolded instruction tailored to individual learner needs.
In contemporary educational practice, scaffolding has become a cornerstone for the support of learners, particularly in second language acquisition. As students confront increasingly complex linguistic content, scaffolding offers a flexible, responsive strategy for bridging knowledge gaps and facilitating progress. The significance of scaffolding lies not only in what it enables students to do but also in how it transforms the learning experience into a process of discovery, interaction, and reflection. This paper aims to investigate the theoretical foundations, practical applications, and measurable outcomes of scaffolding in English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. Through a critical review of current literature, detailed methodological inquiry, and analytical evaluation of classroom practices, this research contributes to an understanding of scaffolding as both a pedagogical framework and a cognitive tool.
The study also considers the implications of scaffolding for differentiated instruction and inclusive education. Teachers are increasingly faced with diverse classrooms, comprising students of various linguistic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Scaffolding provides a means of tailoring instruction to accommodate these differences while maintaining high expectations for all learners. Moreover, scaffolding promotes collaborative learning and peer support, reinforcing the social dimension of language acquisition. In this regard, the research highlights how scaffolding fosters a classroom culture of participation, mutual respect, and intellectual risk-taking. The findings of this study are relevant to educators, policymakers, and curriculum developers seeking to enhance the quality and equity of English language instruction.
