Abstract

This article examines the functional role of phonetic articulation in the system of word formation, focusing on the morphophonological mechanisms of assimilation and synaeresis. The study demonstrates that sound interaction, articulatory inertia, phonological adaptation, morpheme-boundary smoothing, and syllabic compactness significantly influence the formation of derivational structures. The research highlights the role of phonetic processes in morphological modeling, affix variation, phonetic integration between stem and affix, and the principles of prosodic economy in speech. The article provides an in-depth theoretical linguistic analysis of how phonetic mechanisms directly affect the processes of word derivation.
