This article examines the role of children’s literature in the formation of reading culture among primary school pupils, as well as the main tasks and methodological foundations of this process. Evaluates the psychological and age-related characteristics of the reader, drawing on the opinions of teachers, parents, and experts. It analyzes the thematic range of children’s literature, the methodological approaches used in selecting books for young readers, and the factors influencing pupils’ interest in reading. In addition, the paper highlights the significance of developing reading culture in primary school children and outlines the essential criteria, strategies, and teaching methods that enhance the effectiveness of fostering reading habits.References
