Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of automated calculation of gastric ulcer surface area using endoscopic images. A comparative analysis of three numerical methods is carried out: the rectangle method, the trapezoidal method, and numerical integration based on spline interpolation. The results show that spline interpolation provides higher accuracy in area estimation compared to classical approximate methods. Experimental results indicate that the difference between the rectangle method and the spline-based approach is 0.94 mm², which is significant for medical diagnostics.
