Abstract

The introduction of digital technologies into prosthetic dentistry has led to the emergence of a fundamentally new level of diagnostics, modelling, and fabrication of dental prosthetic constructions. The aim of this review is to systematize contemporary data on the clinical capabilities of CAD/CAM prosthetics, to evaluate the accuracy, biomechanical and aesthetic characteristics of digitally manufactured restorations, and to analyze the advantages and limitations of the digital workflow. The research material is based on an analysis of publications from international and national databases for the period 2015–2024, including clinical, experimental, and comparative studies on the accuracy, durability, and functional performance of CAD/CAM constructions. The findings indicate that the use of CAD/CAM technologies improves marginal fit accuracy, enhances reproducibility of treatment outcomes, optimizes clinical procedures, and broadens the spectrum of applicable restorative materials. Special emphasis is placed on digital occlusal diagnostics and the integration of additive manufacturing technologies, which open new possibilities for individualized prosthetic solutions. Overall, the data confirm that CAD/CAM prosthetics represents a key direction in the advancement of modern prosthetic dentistry.
