Abstract

This article analyzes the theoretical and practical aspects of developing the artistic and aesthetic competence of future fine arts teachers. In the modern educational process, it is not sufficient for a fine arts teacher to possess only technical skills; competencies such as aesthetic perception, artistic thinking, creativity, and the ability to analyze works of art are also of great importance. The article highlights the structural components of artistic and aesthetic competence, including aesthetic perception, visual literacy, artistic thinking, compositional skills, and the ability to analyze and interpret works of art. In addition, the effectiveness of innovative methods in the process of training future art teachers in higher education institutions—such as interactive technologies, the STEAM approach, project-based activities, museum pedagogy, and practice-oriented classes aimed at developing practical skills—is substantiated. The research findings demonstrate that the development of artistic and aesthetic competence contributes to thorough preparation of students for their future professional activities, deeper understanding of art, and the formation of aesthetic taste.
