Let’s define what each word means. Appeal is a verb that means to make a request for

something. Call, on the other hand, can be used as a verb or a noun. As a verb, it means to shout
or cry out. As a noun, it can refer to a phone call or a visit.

When it comes to choosing between the words “appeal” and “call,” context plays a crucial

role in determining which word is appropriate. Both words can be used to persuade or convince
someone, but they have slightly different connotations that can impact their effectiveness
depending on the situation. So, which of these words is the proper word to use? The answer is, it
depends on the context. If you’re making a request or plea for something, then appeal is the right
word to use. On the other hand, if you’re shouting or crying out, or referring to a phone call or
visit, then call is the appropriate word.

In the following sections, we’ll explore each of these words in more detail and provide

examples of how to use them correctly.

Define Appeal
Appeal is a term used to describe the act of making a request or an appeal to someone in

order to gain their support, approval, or agreement. It can also refer to the quality of something
that makes it attractive or interesting to a particular audience or group of people.

Appeal can take many forms, including emotional, logical, and ethical appeals. Emotional

appeals aim to evoke strong feelings in the reader or listener, while logical appeals rely on facts
and evidence to support a particular argument. Ethical appeals appeal to the reader or listener’s
sense of morality or right and wrong. In marketing and advertising, appeal is often used to describe
the way in which a product or service is marketed to consumers. Advertisers may use emotional
appeals to create a sense of desire or urgency in the consumer, or they may use logical appeals to
demonstrate the benefits or advantages of a particular product or service.
