Ushbu maqolada ibtidoiy jamoa tuzumi davridagi diniy e'tiqodlarning shakllanishi, rivojlanishi va ularning ijtimoiy hayotdagi o'rni tahlil qilinadi. Tadqiqot asosida mavjud tarixiy, antropologik va arxeologik materiallar o'rganilgan. Maqolada animizm, totemizm, fetishizm va magiya kabi ibtidoiy diniy tasavvurlarning paydo bo'lishi va evolyutsiyasi ko'rib chiqilgan.
