The article under discussion depicts the issues of the category of quantitativeness in modern linguistics. The author of the article examines separate parts of speech representing quantitative semantics and describes general categorical properties of quantification as a grouping of lexico-grammatical units of the natural language. Particular attention is paid to numerals and their pragmatic possibilities.

This article highlights the intersection of realism and postmodernism of the 20th century and the hypertextuality of Tatiana Tolstoy's prose. The purpose of the article is to study the poetics of mythological prose, methods and forms of mythologization in modern Russian prose. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that its materials can be used in lecture courses and seminars on the history of modern literature, the theory of myth, as well as in the works on T. N. Tolstoy.

This article deals with the experience of translating historical novels in translation studies. It provides a comparative analysis of the specific methods of the Uzbek national school of translation studies and the world schools of translation. Moreover, the genesis of translation of Uzbek historical novels, methods of translation, especially the problem of technique in the translation into English, and certain peculiarities of translating historical works are studied here on a scientific basis. During the last century of the study and application of Turkic languages, the works of famous Turkologists have been used in scientific research, textbooks and manuals. Both the Turkic peoples and their languages have the most ancient history. It is given some examples in this article.

The paper aims to present the preliminary results of an ongoing study related to the teaching and learning of writing competencies, through the analysis of writing practices promoted in six Portuguese as a foreign language (PFL) textbooks for young adults. There is no systematic research about their adequacy with regard to the latest methodological guidelines or the existing curricula. Therefore, the theoretical and methodological assumptions and the organization of content and learning practices present in the textbooks are, to some extent, unknown. Although research in Didactics highlights their role in the planning of educational action by teachers and their influence on teaching and learning practice in the classroom. Preliminary results show that there are relatively few writing activities in the textbooks, and that they are mostly guided by behaviorist choices (audiolingual and audiovisual methods).

The objective of this paper is to analyze the peculiarities of terminological system in oil exploration geology and engineering geology. In particular, we identify the terms selected both by their motivation and by their non-motivation through investigating of English and Uzbek terms in oil exploration and engineering as the branches of geology. We adopt a method of description and classification as systematic approach, dividing the terms into pure-motivated we disclose them as nuclear units and other special nominative units we distinguish them as unmotivated terms. The goal of this systematic approach is to facilitate the most efficient means of generating consistent and optimum results in terminological system.

The article under discussion reveals the issues of comparative and linguocultural analysis of the concept “gender” in Uzbek and English languages. The present study presents gender as a concept of linguistic culture and describes it as the basis that forms gender stereotypes on the material of phraseological units of English and Uzbek languages. The author of the article considers that gender is not a linguistic category, but its content can be revealed through the analysis of language structures, which explains the need for a linguistic study of the cultural representation of gender.

In the Twenty-First Century, in the context of globalization processes, special attention is paid to the study of the contribution of religions to the development of world civilization, spirituality and enlightenment, because spiritual culture determined the progress of society and, since ancient periods, has been closely associated with religious views and beliefs. This definition is fully applying to Buddhism, that existed for many centuries in the south of Central Asia, including in the historical and cultural region of Bactria, along with Zoroastrianism and other religions.

Central Asia is considered as a territory of distribution of various religious views, religions and teachings by the world's leading research institutions since ancient times. In this regard, special studies have been conducted and their results were published in many scientific publications. In particular, Uzbek and foreign scientists carried out fundamentally important archaeological work with the aim of studying the Buddhist monuments of Tarmidh-Termez, as well as identifying the features of the spread of Buddhism through this region to Margiana, Sogdiana and East Turkistan. From this point of view and out of the need to analyze other topical issues (spiritual and material culture, fine arts, numismatics and epigraphy, reconstruction of the functions of Buddhist centers), additional research based on new approaches is an urgent scientific task.

The article deals with the traditions of folklore in the works of Alisher Navoi, the role of mythology and folk art in the epic “Sabai Sayyar”, the plot of the epic in folklore, the connection of the main motives with folklore; folklore traditions in the interpretation of the composition and image system of the epic “Sabai Sayyar”; the sources of the plot of the epic “Sabai Sayyar” in the folklore of the peoples of the East and the artistic evolution of the epic plot are analyzed. The plot of the epic “Sabai Sayyar” is clarified in connection with the traditions of Uzbek folk epics.

This article describes the state of irrigated agriculture in Turkestan, water sources, classification of major rivers and their tributaries, geographical location, irrigation system, sources of water supply, types of traditional irrigation methods used by the local population in the second half of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Moreover, an attempt is made to reveal the participation of local people in the construction, repair, cleaning of irrigation facilities, the implementation of centuries-old rules of irrigation, the rights of local people to use water through a number of sources, statistical collections, scientific literature and research works in the article.

The article under discussion reveals the issues of theoretical rationale for content-language integrated learning (CLIL) in educational institutions. The author of the article consider that CLIL as an educational approach serves to maintain linguistic diversity as well as a powerful tool that has a significant impact on the process of learning a foreign language. Moreover, CLIL is an innovative approach to learning, creating a holistic, dynamic and stimulating learning environment. The approach under consideration expands didactic possibilities of the traditional educational curriculum, namely, not to teach each subject separately, but to integrate subjects with others.

The article gives data on English and Uzbek lullabies and their componential analyses. The analyze has been done based on the grammatical signals which in both languages. Results show that the components of English and Uzbek languages are similar in terms of possessive, plural, prosody and occasionally derivational contrast. The components of English and Uzbek languages are different in terms of the case, function words and word order.

The article under discussion depicts axiological characteristics of English, Uzbek and Russian phraseological units. The aim of the author was to study English, Uzbek and Russian phraseological units as a reflection of the national character and national values of the native speakers. The English, Uzbek and Russian phraseological fund is so large that a complete study of it would not fit into the framework of the target research. However, on the example of the phraseological units considered in the article it is possible to get an idea of the mentality of the British, Uzbeks and Russians.
