Endofitlar o'simlik to'qimalarida ularsiz yashaydigan bakteriyalar va zamburug'lardir
kasallikning ko'rinadigan belgilari. Ular o'simliklarning o'sishini yaxshilaydi, ularning stressga chidamliligini oshiradi va himoya metabolitlarini sintez qiladi. "Endofit" atamasi 1866 yilda A. de Bari tomonidan kiritilgan va faol o'rganish 1977 yilda boshlangan.
