day), as well as the use of 0.25% oxolinic acid ointment (3-4 times a day for 7-10
days). We applied these ointments to the tip of the tongue, and then spread them
over the surface of the OM and the red border of the lips.
In the 2nd group, the treatment differed in that, along with the generally
accepted traditional therapy, the use of prosasol spray before meals 3-4 times, in
addition, we used the drug lysobact, 2 tablets 3-4 times a day.
Results and discussion
. Based on the data studied, a comprehensive
treatment was developed that allows improving the quality of life of patients with
severe recurrent herpetic stomatitis.
Findings
. In conclusion, it should be noted that the inclusion of an
immunomodulator in the treatment regimen for patients with recurrent herpetic
stomatitis is marked by a pronounced clinical effect, the basis of which is the
regulation of systemic and local immunity and a decrease in the intensity of the
inflammatory process.

ASSESSMENT OF THE STATE OF THE PERIODONTIUM USING
THE CPITN INDEX DURING PREGNANCY

Pregnancy in one way or another reflects all the main elements of the
etiopathogenesis of periodontal diseases, including bacterial invasion, the
protective properties of the div, reparative processes in tissues, blood
circulation and metabolism in them.
According to numerous studies, the growth of periodontal pathology and a
higher intensity of its damage in pregnant women are proved.
The purpose of the research: an epidemiological assessment of the state of
the periodontium according to the CPITN index in the dynamics of the
development of pregnancy and in the early postpartum period.
The purpose of the research: epidemiological assessment of the state of the
periodontium according to the CPITN index in the dynamics of the development
of pregnancy and in the early postpartum period.
149
Under our supervision were women: 132 (I trimester); 110 (II trimester)
and 95 (III trimester) of pregnancy. 50 women of comparable age made up the
control group.
The state of periodontal tissues was assessed using the community periodontal
index (CPITN), developed by experts from the WHO/FDI working group for
epidemiological dental surveys of the population. This index allows you to determine
the prevalence and intensity of signs of periodontal tissue damage (gingival bleeding
during probing, the presence of sub- and supragingival tartar, periodontal pockets of
various depths) based on a sextant examination of the oral cavity.
As can be seen from the presented data in pregnant women, there is a sharp
increase in the number of sextants, reflecting a severe inflammatory-destructive
lesion of the periodontium. Thus, the number of sextants with bleeding (code 1)
increased by 5.38% (
Р>0.05); with tartar (code2)
– already by 38.17% (P<0.01); and
with a pocket >6 mm
– by 1600.0% (P<0.01); at the same time, unaccounted for
sextants appear in pregnant women (code X), which is absent in the control group.
Thus, in pregnant women, a sharp increase in the extreme degree of
periodontal damage is recorded, corresponding to high codes of the CPITN index.

A strain of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 associated with severe acute
respiratory syndrome belonging to the subgenus Sarbecovirus of the genus
Betacoronavirus is a causative agent of coronavirus infection COVID-2019.
According to Johns Hopkins University, which maintains statistics on the incidence
of coronavirus, as of February 21, 2022, more than 424 million infections with the
virus were detected in the world, about 5.9 million people died.
The severity of COVID-19 infection has been associated with patients’
comorbidities (Wu et al., 2020), old age, and obesity (Zhou et al., 2020). However,
to date, specific risk factors leading to worsening clinical outcomes have not been
fully elucidated. Periodontitis is one of the most common chronic inflammatory
