Actuality.
Any time every one can feel how much stress they are under. Certainly, the
demands of study, work, marriage, parenting, or any sudden and unpleasant situation can produce
feelings of distress that detract from wellness. Even though we have all experienced stress, we may
have questions about what it is. By some of the stress theories, it is described as "the nonspecific
response of the div to any demand made on it." As a result harmful, disagreeable stress calls distress.
Distress that is not controlled can result in physical and emotional disruption, illness, and even death.
The aim of the work.
To study feelings of stress as a physical and emotional response.
Methods and materials.
During periods of stress, communication between the hypothalamus
and the pituitary gland is accomplished by the release from the hypothalamus of a chemical messenger
into the blood flowing directly to the pituitary gland. This chemical stimulates the pituitary gland to
produce its own powerful hormone
,
adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). ACTH is then released
into the bloodstream, ultimately reaching a pair of glands of the endocrine system called the adrenal
glands
.
ACTH stimulates the outer layer (cortex) of the adrenal glands to produce chemical substances
called corticoids. Corticoids support the powerful hormone epinephrine. During the stress periods, the
heart and lungs shift into high gear. Epinephrine helps increase the rate of cardiac and pulmonary
function. Immune system cells are mobilized as if in anticipation of div injury. As glucose is the
div’s main source of energy, an early feature of the stress response is the release of glycogen from
its deposit sites, particularly the liver. If a stressor is not eliminated promptly, the div’s supply of
glucose may become depleted. People under the stress may have frequent, bothersome headaches. It
may be chronic headache symptoms or symptoms that are especially painful. Focused, intense pain
near one eye, often producing a red and teary eye and a runny nose. Headaches occur daily for weeks
or months. Obviously, the effects of unresolved stress can built up until the div begins to break
down. This breakdown leads to stress-related diseases and disorders. Among the major diseases are
the hypertension, stroke, heart disease, kidney disease, depression, alcoholism, gastrointestinal
disorders and many others.
Conclusion.
Many reasons, such as poor academic performance, loss of a friend, or being the
only minority student can cause stress. Giving birth, receiving a promotion, or starting a passionate
romance and others can also be stressors. In each case, the effect on the div's physical systems is
relatively similar. Experts in stress management have proposed several effective techniques, such as
self-hypnosis, relaxation, quieting, yoga, diaphragmatic breathing, exercise, transcendental
meditation and others.
