There are many reasons for English language teachers to assign projects in
teaching vocabulary to school learners. First of all, project assignment in vocabulary
learning stimulates collaboration between the language learners. Teacher is teaching the
same things to all school learners in the class, but not all of them understand equally.
Thanks to the collaboration triggered by project assignment learning, the “helpless”
language learners get inspired by the “helpful” language learners. Such differentiation
is quite beneficial as a teaching method.
The main point of projects in the classroom while teaching vocabulary is, triggering
the language learners’ creativity and interest to learn. That is how teachers see it. 6

those are the things they associate with projects.
The project assignment in teaching vocabulary requires special skills and training
from the teacher. The teacher's role and the school learners changes significantly.
Teachers should not only conduct classes in the form of lectures, but need to be flexible,
in a certain extent artistic, interesting, and interested in a subject.
The teacher should always keep up with the times and give as much current
information as possible and help language learners in subject's mastering. In the context
of this assignment, language learners play the role of flagship, and the teacher is only a
navigator on this huge ship sailing to knowledge. There are different types of projects
in teaching vocabulary. The project’s choice is determined by a communicative task.
Everything depends on the purpose and tasks that need to be solved in the course of the
work in teaching vocabulary. The type of project assignment determines a structure,
methods, sources of information and a reporting form:
1.
Group project in teaching vocabulary - research is conducted by a group and each

of projects is a game method, and the result is achieved through collective group activity
and the final product is developed collectively and presented publicly. Thus, the speech
development of competence is developing, which is especially important for learning
the vocabulary of the foreign language. Group work contributes to improving 6

learners’ communicative skills, and the project activity itself makes it possible to select
assignments and topics according to students' individuality and interests.
While preparing for the project 6
th
grade learners get acquainted with the
peculiarities of behavior in a specific communicative situation, get experience in public
speaking, and develop ability to express their position openly on a particular topic, learn
new lexical and grammatical units, and activate using of language cliches. The work on
the project takes place in several stages; it is more convenient to represent the stages by
