INTRODUCTION
Dan Brown's novel “The Da Vinci Code” is one of the most discussed and controversial books of
the 21st century. The religious themes and historical theories raised in this novel by the writer
caused a lot of discussion and excitement among the public and readers, and made this novel one
of the best-selling books in the world. In this novel, Brown not only creates an exciting thriller,
but also draws the reader into the search for secrets associated with religious symbols, cults and
legends full of mystery. Many religious terms, concepts and symbols serve as the main elements
of the work, so their correct interpretation and translation is of great importance for a full
understanding of the text. This article examines how translators and researchers analyze the
religious and philosophical concepts presented in the novel, as well as how various aspects of the
translation work affect the perception and understanding of the novel "The Da Vinci Code".
Brown skillfully uses elements of history, philosophy, and religion in this novel, creating a work
that provokes deep reflections and sometimes angers readers and critics. In this novel, Dan
Brown plays an important role in the creation of his unique style that distinguishes his work from
the other writers by taking exactly three components, namely, the historical context,
philosophical ideas and religious concepts as the basis of the plot of the work.
Dan Brown has a number of unique features in his novelistic style and stylistics, which have
made him one of the most famous writers of modern literature. Because the style of his works
not only makes reading interesting and exciting from the beginning to the end, but also
interesting with stories full of various intrigues and hidden secrets that stimulate the reader's
mind. There is a system of specific elements that play an important role in this, one of which is
the rapid and drastic development of events in almost all of Den Braun's works. In the novel
"The Da Vinci Code", the author gradually introduces the reader into some secret part of the
mystery and constantly attracts his attention. From the first pages of The Da Vinci Code, the
chain of events develops rapidly, gradually introducing new, mysterious elements that change the
reader's mind in the process. With this style, he involuntarily encourages the reader to continue
reading the work by creating an atmosphere of fear, suspicion and mystery. This style is mainly
distinguished by its dynamism and unexpected turns. In each chapter, new secrets, problems and
goals appear, which constantly involves the reader in serious activity. It is no exaggeration to say
that Dan Brown has a number of unique features in his novel style and stylistics, which made
him one of the most famous writers of modern literature. Because the style of his works not only
makes reading interesting and exciting from the beginning to the end, but also interesting with

unique elements that play an important role in this, one of which is that the events in almost all
of Dan Brown's works develop quickly and quickly. In the novel "The Da Vinci Code", the
author gradually introduces the reader into some secret part of the mystery and constantly attracts
his attention. From the very first pages of the novel "The Da Vinci Code", the chain of events
develops rapidly, gradually introducing new, mysterious elements that change the reader's mind.
With this style, he encourages the reader to continue reading the work by creating an atmosphere
of fear, suspicion and mystery.
This style is mainly distinguished by its dynamism and unexpected turns. In each section, new
secrets, problems and goals appear, which constantly involve the reader in serious activity.
Brown, through his fast, but at the same time conversational, that is, suspenseful style, distracts
the reader, keeping them busy with thoughts and impressions. In addition, the scientific and
historical issues raised in Dan Brown's works, the disclosure of topics that are sometimes not
studied or poorly covered in literature, play an important role in further enriching the plot of the
work.
METHODS
While reading the novel “The Da Vinci Code”, the author raises questions such as the origin of
humanity and the existence of life after death. The title of the novel already makes the reader
think that there is some kind of secret in the work, encourages them to know and discover the
secret. Thus, even before reading, the reader develops a communicative attitude towards
studying the unknown. The novel is written in the mystical-detective genre, and includes the
features of a mystery novel and a classic detective. The story of the work begins with the murder
of Jacques Saunière, a curator at the Louvre Museum. During the story, the main characters,
Robert Langdon, a professor of religious symbols at Harvard University, and Sophie Neveu, an
agent from the cryptography department, suddenly appear, thus the work is divided into two
opposing camps and a struggle between good and evil arises. The search for the criminal, which
is the main climax of the plot, is partially interrupted for the reader, that is, the attention of the
characters of the work is focused on searching for the secrets left by Jacques Saunière. The
reader has the opportunity to directly observe the process aimed at revealing the secrets. The
beginning of the novel presents all the important components of a detective story: the victim, the
criminal, the evidence. From the very beginning of the work, this approach of the writer shows
that it is fundamentally different from other typical detective works. For example, if we compare
the detective works of Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle and Dan Brown, we can feel the
difference in the era, the style of narration, the type of detective, the motives of the crime, and
even the profession, worldview, and thinking of the heroes of the work.
For example, if we take the works of Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), considered the founder of
the detective genre, his detective works are focused on logical thinking, are illuminated in a dark
environment, and the characters of the work often move around the suspects. The main character
of the work is Auguste Dupin, who finds the solution to the plot of the work through logical
thinking. In the work "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" (1841), which is considered the first
classic detective in the history of detective fiction, the main character Dupin uses logic to solve a
terrible murder committed by a monkey. The work "The Stories of Sherlock Holmes" written by
Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) is considered a classic of the logical detective. The main
character of the work is Sherlock Holmes, a genius of logical thinking, who solves crimes based
on deduction, observation, and details. The story "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (1902)
represents a combination of mysticism and logic, where Holmes exposes the legend of the cursed
dog as a skillful dramatization of murder. If we compare the works of the previous two writers
with the detective works created by Dan Brown, these works created by him are written in the
genre of intellectual thrillers. For example, the novel "The Da Vinci Code" is a modern, dynamic
thriller, in the center of which are secrets, symbols, history and religion. The main character is
Professor Robert Langdon, a professor of religious symbols. So, another difference of the writer
is that the hero of this work is not a detective, but a person of another profession, and it is this
hero who reveals the true essence of the crime. Another difference of the work is that the writer

decorates his work with various colors, that is, he skillfully uses real historical facts, architecture,
works of art. The work is rich in plots, persecutions, intrigues, secrets and amazing events.
Langdon and Sophie Neveu investigate a murder in the Louvre and uncover a conspiracy
involving the Grail and Christ. Thus, from the beginning to the end of the work, the detective
continues to search for the secrets mentioned above, to the true essence of the crime, to the
search for the criminal by encountering conspiracies. The richness of the work is due to the
knowledge of Professor Robert Langdon in the history of religion, cryptography, astrology,
geography and other sciences. The novel "The Da Vinci Code" is based on the traditions of the
detective genre, that is, it shows a victorious hero who reveals secrets, protects the boundaries of
his beliefs and ideas, just as the heroes of spy novels protect the borders of the state.
For example: Sophie turned her gaze to the quotation from Da Vinci.
“Ignorance is a weapon
the Church has long used to keep the truth hidden. Open your eyes, poor prisoners!”
Teabing reached for the book, and began to flip through the pages.
- “Now I’m going to show you the work in which Da Vinci depicted the Grail,” he said. -He
turned the book toward Sophie. -“You should recognize this image
.”
After all, this is The Secret Baptism! It’s drawn on the wall of the Chapel of Saint Mary of the
Angels near Milan. It shows Jesus Christ surrounded by his apostles.

.
First, "
Sophie fixed her gaze on a quote by da Vinci...". The lines "Ignorance will surely lead us
astray. O, you fools, open your eyes!"
are quoted in the novel "The Da Vinci Code". Although it
has not been proven that the author of this quote is Leonardo da Vinci, it indicates his high
regard for science and enlightenment. He warns people against ignorance. In Da Vinci's opinion,
ignorance leads humanity to destruction, so he urges "
open your eyes
." This is a call to think, to
seek the truth. The true essence of the line is that it promotes ideas such as science,
enlightenment, and the search for truth, that is, it calls on people to increase awareness against
ignorance, to be vigilant and enlightened. Everyone knows that ignorance leads people and the
society in which they live to decline. The only way to get rid of it is to be educated, enlightened.
Secondly, "
After all, this is the "Secret Prayer"! It is painted on the wall of the church of Santa
Maria near Milan. It depicts Jesus Christ with his apostles
." With this sentence, Teabing shows
Sophie da Vinci's famous painting "The Last Supper". This painting is painted on the wall of the
church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, where Jesus Christ is depicted at the last supper
with his apostles. This painting is considered religiously important.
From the only example given, the author uses the work of art very skillfully, that is, he both
shows the reader a historical work and gives hidden information in this work of Da Vinci
through secrets and symbols. The real purpose of the author of the novel is implicitly:
He puts forward the idea that truth can be revealed through art.
Tries to reveal the connection between religious history, myths, and science.
The characters in the book set the starting point for an intellectual adventure in the search
for truth and the unraveling of mysteries.
In general, Dan Brown never tires of emphasizing the need to get rid of ignorance, Leonardo da
Vinci's attempt to reveal hidden truths and mysteries presented through science and art.
Characters such as Sophie and Teabing show the need for knowledge and the desire to discover
the secrets in works of art. The work "The Last Supper" mainly emphasizes the issues of finding
hidden information and discovering the truth through art, history, and religious images. The lines
quoted by the author of the work reflect his interest and need for science, art, and historical

works. They emphasize the escape from ignorance, the search for knowledge, and the
understanding of the secrets in art.
CONCLUSION
Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code emphasizes the struggle against ignorance and
misinformation through the quest to discover scientific, artistic, historical, and religious secrets.
The novel encourages the reader to uncover hidden information, symbols, and mysterious facts.
The author uses the works of Leonardo da Vinci and his ideas to emphasize the importance of
finding truth through science and art. The work combines art, history, and science to express the
need to uncover secrets and hidden information.
The main events of the novel are the murder at the Louvre Museum, the collaboration between
Harvard University professor Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu, and the discovery of hidden
history. This process encourages the reader to search for scientific and religious history. Through
works of art such as The Last Supper, the author raises scientific and philosophical questions,
which show the intellectual struggle against ignorance.
The quote at the beginning of the novel also expresses da Vinci's interest in science and
enlightenment. In his works, especially in "The Last Supper", da Vinci shows his desire to reveal
the truth through hidden information. The novel's characters such as Langdon, Sophie, and
Teabing reflect the need for science and art. The work shows how ignorance and ignorance lead
humanity astray, and encourages people to increase their interest in science, enlightenment, and
art. By revealing the truth through art, emphasizing the connection between religious history,
myth, and science, the author takes the reader on an intellectual adventure. Thus, "The Da Vinci
Code" stands out not only as a mystical detective, but also as a work that provides a search for
truth through science and art.
