student love for the Motherland, respect for national values and a sense of devotion to the

native land. It is especially important to instill such high human qualities from early childhood.

The stage of primary education is precisely that favorable and decisive period for such

educational processes. Students of this age perceive the world emotionally; for them, life's truths

are more easily and vividly perceived through images. Therefore, in reading literacy lessons,

fiction texts become not only a means of developing language and speech, but also an instrument

of spiritual and moral improvement. Through works of art, schoolchildren learn to think about

the Motherland, feel it and be proud of it. In this process, innovative approaches - modern and

creative methods, technologies, means of emotional influence - play an important role. If each

lesson evokes in the student not only knowledge, but also deep feelings, he begins to feel

patriotism in his heart from childhood. Thus, teaching fiction texts with innovative approaches in

elementary grades is becoming one of the key areas of modern education. Purpose of the study

The stage of primary school education is an important period in which the foundation of the

personality is laid. It is at this stage that moral and ethical qualities, worldview, attitude to the

Motherland and life attitudes are formed. Therefore, in literacy lessons on reading fiction, it is

necessary not only to develop language and speech skills, but also to awaken a sense of

patriotism in the soul of the student. A work of art has a direct spiritual impact on the child,

penetrates his consciousness, awakens feelings and enhances educational effectiveness.

Modern approaches require that this process be carried out not only through reading the text or

retelling, but also with the help of innovative, creative and active methods. For example, role-

playing games based on fiction, the use of dramatizations that allow schoolchildren to express

their emotions, the use of multimedia, drawing based on the text, questions aimed at an

emotional response, or tasks that develop critical thinking, for example: "If you were this hero,

what would you do?" All this helps the student to delve deeper into the meaning of the text. A

primary school student is just beginning to understand life, he is the owner of a pure and sincere

heart. Therefore, every idea, every feeling instilled at this time directly affects the formation of

his personality. From this point of view, reading literacy lessons provide an opportunity not only

to develop reading skills, but also to awaken love, pride and devotion to the Motherland. To do

this, the teacher must go beyond the traditional lesson and use innovative methods that will

interest the student, inspire him and provide a living experience. One of such methods is

dramatization, in which children get used to the image of the hero of the text, convey his actions,

intentions and emotions from the bottom of their hearts. This process turns the student from a

passive listener into an active participant. For example, not just read a poem about the

Motherland, but also stage it, so that the child feels the Motherland not only with words, but also

with the heart.Another effective way is the method of expressive imagery, when children are

asked to draw a picture or make up a story based on the event after reading. Such tasks allow the

child to express internal experiences and images associated with the Motherland visually.

The use of multimedia technologies also enhances the feeling of patriotism. For example, if

music is played against the background of a poem, videos are shown, or interactive slides and

QR codes with additional resources are used, the student becomes more aware of the content of

the text and perceives it emotionally. Methods that stimulate student participation - the essay

"My Motherland is in my heart", "I love the Motherland because ...", oral statements - help to

form a sense of personal responsibility and national pride.

In addition, the teacher's personal example plays an important role. The child believes and

follows the teacher who speaks about the Motherland with sincerity and warmth. After all, a

primary school student perceives with his heart first. When, for example, after reading a poem on

the topic "Motherland", children draw how they love their country, or write short essays, they

manage to express their feelings, moving from simple understanding to a deeply experienced

level. QR-coded books, audio texts, digital materials are also effective innovative means of

enlivening a lesson in our time.

Also, the presence of school events, such as lessons on "Loyalty to the Motherland",

dramatizations by children, competitions of stories about the homeland, significantly strengthen

patriotic feelings. Through fiction texts, you can instill love for the Motherland, respect for

national values, pride in ancestors. But this does not happen by itself. The teacher must strive to

constantly update approaches, look for methods that will inspire the child, make him feel pride in

his country and love for it, using them actively. Only then will the reading literacy lesson turn

into not just training, but also education, and from childhood the formation of a sense of

responsibility for the native land will begin. Methods of organizing the research

Formation of patriotism through fiction texts in primary school students becomes most effective

when using innovative methods. Below is a detailed description of how this is implemented:

For a primary school student, the concept of the Motherland is still formed in an emotional and

figurative form. Therefore, it is necessary not just an explanation, but methods that affect the

heart. Fiction texts - poems, stories, fairy tales, dialogues - serve this purpose. But it is important

not just to read them, but to present them using modern approaches in order to evoke a lasting

sense of patriotism in the student.

Below are effective innovative approaches:

1. Role-playing games (dramatization):

Based on a fiction text, students revive images by staging scenes. For example, productions on

the theme "Defender of the Motherland", "Motherland" allow the child to feel what it means to

serve the Motherland.

2. Emotional questions and the "Frank thoughts" method:

After the text, the teacher asks questions:

"What would you do if you were this child?"

"What is the Motherland for you?"

This method encourages the student to express his opinion, promotes the development of

independent thinking and patriotic feelings.

3. Drawing from the text:

The child is asked to imagine and draw an image of the Motherland after reading the text. This

allows him to express his feelings and attitudes towards the Motherland artistically.

4. Multimedia:

Listening to poems or stories, watching videos, using interactive slides and QR codes enhance

the effect of perception of the material and leave a deep impression.

5. Mini-essays and oral statements:

After reading the texts, the topics "My Motherland", "I love the Motherland, because ..." are

offered. Children express their feelings verbally or in writing, developing personal responsibility

and national pride.

6. The “Connection to Life” Method:

The content of the text is connected to real life: holidays such as Independence Day, Flag Day,

school events dedicated to the Motherland. This enhances the practical significance of literary

texts.

7. The “Heart to Heart” Method:

The teacher sincerely expresses his feelings for the Motherland and encourages students to speak

in the same spirit. The teacher’s heartfelt words reach the heart of the student.

In reading literacy lessons in elementary grades, not only reading skills are formed, but also

spiritual and moral education. Using innovative approaches, through literary texts, one can evoke

instudents feelings of love, devotion, pride and responsibility to the Motherland. The main thing

is to create a spiritual atmosphere that awakens in the child the need to love his country.

Results and discussion of the study

The study examined the role of fiction and the effectiveness of innovative methods in the

formation of patriotism in primary school students. The experiment included a control and

experimental group:

The experimental group regularly used innovative methods: dramatization, expression through

drawing, multimedia, emotional questions, mini-essays and oral speech. The control group used

traditional passive methods - reading, questions, explanations.

As a result, the following main results were obtained:

Increase in activity in the experimental group by 65-70%. Students actively participated in

lessons and tried to express their opinions.

Expanding ideas about the Motherland. The questions "What is the Motherland?", "How to

show loyalty to the Motherland?" received complete and meaningful answers.

Increased creative self-expression: drawings, mini-essays and stories became more meaningful,

emotional and sincere.

Increased emotional response to the text: students began to empathize with the characters.

Formation of a team approach and responsibility through stage productions and dramatization.

In the control group, the changes were less pronounced: the answers more often repeated the

content, without demonstrating a creative or emotional attitude towards the Motherland.

The results clearly show that the effectiveness of developing patriotism through fiction depends

on teaching methods. Innovative methods focused on the child's worldview, emotionality and

activity turn the lesson into a means of spiritual education. They help students not only learn, but

also feel with their hearts, forming a personal attitude towards the text. The pedagogical

conclusion of the study: if a primary school teacher uses innovative methods in teaching fiction,

this will significantly increase students' love, pride, devotion and responsibility for the

Motherland. This approach ensures not only the development of literacy, but also personal

growth.

Conclusion

Loyalty to the Motherland, national pride and love for it are some of the most important moral

qualities of an individual. The foundations for these feelings are laid in childhood, especially at

the stage of primary education. Literacy lessons in reading are not only a teaching tool, but also a

powerful means of education. The study showed that the possibility of developing patriotism

through fiction is extremely high, but innovative approaches are needed to implement it.

Experimental data, analysis and observations showed that dramatization, expressive images,

emotional questions, multimedia, mini-essays and oral speech increase students' interest, turning

them into active participants and thinkers. Most importantly, these methods expand the concept

of the Motherland, awaken feelings and promote the perception of values as an internal

need. Thus, teaching fiction as a means of education, the use of innovative methods is an

important and urgent task of a primary school teacher. This approach contributes to the personal

development of the student, the formation of a sense of belonging to the Motherland, national

consciousness and civic responsibility.
