Today, one of the rapidly developing industries is the tourism industry. The development of
tourism means the development of the country. In our country, the attention to the field of
tourism is increasing day by day, and its types are also increasing. Of these, museology holds a
special place. It is natural for every country to always look at history, study and preserve existing
customs, traditions, and ancient monuments as it moves towards development. The role of
museums in this is incomparable. Because they are a collection of monuments of culture,
enlightenment, and nature from the past, which are stored and displayed in accordance with the
current procedures.
Since 1977, May 18 has been traditionally celebrated as International Museum Day. The
current 2018 International Museum Day is being held under the motto "Modern technologies in
museums: innovative solutions for museums and exhibitions".
During the years of independence, on the initiative of the First President Islam Karimov, special
attention was paid to the development of museums, which are considered to be institutions that
preserve our historical heritage, and the organizational and legal foundations of this field were
created. Also, from the first days of independence, Islam Karimov carried out a number of
practical works on the establishment of museums that emdiv the history and long-term heritage
of our country. Based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Museum of the
History of Uzbekistan was established, and as a result, a museum with more than 3,000 antiques

and unique exhibits was established, which fully reflects the history of our country, and effective
work was carried out to restore the name of our historical figures who left an indelible mark in
the history of our country and to deliver their rich material and cultural heritage to the younger
generation. On October 18, 1996, the 660th anniversary of the great master Amir Temur on the
occasion of the anniversary, a new museum - the State Museum of the History of the Timurids
began its work in our country, and Islam Karimov gave the following description of this museum
at the opening ceremony of this museum: "The State Museum of the History of the Timurids is
another practical proof that historical justice has been celebrated in our country in relation to the
personality of the owner. Also, if Amir Temur's legacy is a beautiful ring, this museum is the
ruby eye of this ring, everyone who visits the museum one person will make sure that my
words are not poetic allusions or exaggerations. In this museum, both our past, present day and
our great future are reflected as if reflected in a mirror. The direction set for itself has been
opened, it can be said that it was the foundation stone laid for the development of museology as a
science in the history of Uzbekistan. In accordance with the Decree of the First President of the
Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 12, 1998 "On the fundamental improvement and
improvement of the activities of museums", the coordination and support of the activities of the
Ministry of Culture, other ministries and agencies in our Republic. and in order to provide them
with the necessary scientific and methodological support, the Republican Museum Support Fund
under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs "Uzbekmuzey" was established. In accordance with this
decree, a scientific-practical, morally enlightening, color magazine "Moziydan Sado" published
once every three months in Uzbek, English and Russian was established in order to increase the
museological culture of the population of our country, to inform them about our heritage and
values, and to publish the scientific works of experts and museum staff in the field of museology,
to promote achievements in this field, and to improve the professional qualifications of museum
staff. to further improve the system of museums that have been formed since ancient times in the
territory, to increase their role in the spiritual and moral maturity of the people, to carefully
preserve, study, enrich, bring out and promote the rich history of our nation, the steps of our
independence preserved in the museum funds, to use them widely in order to strengthen the
feelings of national pride and pride, independence and loyalty to the Motherland in the minds of
our people, museums measures have been taken to provide highly qualified specialists who can
meet the requirements of the time, to strengthen the material and technical base, and to create the
necessary conditions for applying the experiences of world museology, naturally, history
museums are an expression of the past and memory of the people. Another historical museum
established during the years of independence is the "Memorial of Repression Victims" museum.
In 1999, on the initiative of Islam Karimov, it was decided to perpetuate the memory of the
victims of repression in our country and to establish the "Martyrs' Memorial" memorial complex,
and great work was done in this regard. Also, according to the decree of the First President of the
Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 12, 1999, a commission was formed to perpetuate the
memory of the victims of the colonial period, and the "Martyrs' Memorial" memorial complex
was established in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. On May 12, 2000, the ceremonial
opening of the memorial complex "Memorial of Martyrs" was a great event in the social, cultural
and spiritual life of our country and people.
The Termiz Archaeological Museum was established in 2001 on the basis of the decisions of the
Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 98 of March 5, 1998 "On issues of
supporting the activities of museums" and No. 545 of December 27, 1999 "On preparing for and
holding the celebration of the 2500th anniversary of the city of Termiz" found
The Law "On Museums" adopted on September 12, 2008 made it possible to further improve
the system of museums, which has been formed for a long time in the territory of Uzbekistan, to
increase their role in the spiritual and moral maturity of our people, to study, carefully preserve,
enrich, take out and promote the rich history of our people preserved in museum funds. In 2017-
2021, Uzbekistan The strategy of action on five priority areas of development, including the

State program "Year of supporting active entrepreneurship, innovative ideas and technologies",
also defines the main tasks for the development of tourism:
systematic development of domestic tourism by encouraging local residents to travel around the
country, creating convenient infrastructure for tourists, widely promoting the tourism potential of
regions;
rapid development of tourism by creating ample conditions for the visit of foreign tourists,
enriching their travel programs with content and expanding the types of services provided;
forming appropriate infrastructure in the objects of material cultural heritage in our country and
the objects around them, making pilgrimage tourism as a promising direction of the industry by
creating appropriate conditions for the religious ceremonies to be performed.
In conclusion, we can say that; Through the development of tourism, the country develops, and
the role of museums in this is incomparable. Attention to museology is increasing day by day,
and there is also a demand for the training of qualified, young personnel in this field. For this, it is
necessary to observe the work of experienced personnel in this field and be able to apply it in
practice.
