This study investigates the impact of reading strategies on students’ comprehension and retention, emphasizing their role in enhancing academic performance and cognitive development. By examining pre-reading, during-reading, and post-reading strategies, the research highlights how structured approaches facilitate active engagement with texts, promote critical thinking, and improve long-term memory. The findings indicate that learners who consistently apply these strategies are better able to process information, retain knowledge, and transfer skills across various academic contexts. The study underscores the importance of integrating reading strategies into instructional practice to develop autonomous, strategic, and effective learners.References
