INTRODUCTION:

The topic of youth and unemployment is one of the important social and economic issues

in many countries around the world today. This issue not only affects the personal lives of young

people but also influences the future and development of society as a whole. High unemployment

rates among youth create numerous difficulties for them to find their place in society, engage in

social activities, and achieve economic independence.

Causes of Youth Unemployment

There are several main reasons for unemployment among youth. First, lack of education

and skills is a major factor. Many young people have completed their education but lack the

practical experience or the necessary skills for modern professions. This makes it difficult for them

to compete in the job market.

Secondly, lack of job opportunities contributes to unemployment. In many countries,

particularly in developing regions, job creation does not keep up with demand. Economic

downturns or ineffective labor market structures often leave young people unemployed.

Furthermore, the mismatch between social and economic sectors also exacerbates youth

unemployment. There are considerable gaps in the skills required for various professions and

industries. For instance, young people with knowledge of new technologies or industry sectors are

often scarce.

Impact of Unemployment. Youth unemployment has significant social and economic

consequences. First and foremost, it negatively affects the mental health of young people. The

inability to find a job, lack of self-expression, social isolation, and depression are some of the

challenges they face. This can lead to young people disconnecting from society. From an economic

perspective, high youth unemployment rates reduce productivity and slow down economic growth.

It puts a strain on government budgets and weakens social welfare systems.

This not only affects unemployed youth but also poses a threat to the entire society.

Solutions and Measures. To reduce youth unemployment, various measures need to be

taken. First, it is essential to improve the education system. Young people must gain practical skills

and knowledge of modern technologies and professions. Universities and vocational colleges need

to provide education that meets the demands of the labor market. A second measure is to create

job placement programs.

Providing opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and mentoring will increase

young people's chances of entering the workforce. Through these programs, young people can test

their skills in a practical setting and gain experience.

Additionally, promoting entrepreneurship can be an effective means of providing young

people with jobs. Encouraging youth to start small and medium-sized businesses, offering financial

support and guidance will help reduce unemployment.

High levels of unemployment can lead to situations such as self-expression issues, social

problems, and depression among youth. Additionally, these changes can negatively impact the

future economic and social development of society.

The following measures can be taken to ensure youth employment:

1. Education and skill development – Ensuring that youth receive education in modern

professions and technologies.

2. Job placement programs – Creating job opportunities for youth, supporting internship

and apprenticeship programs.

3. Development of small and medium-sized businesses – Assisting youth in starting

entrepreneurial activities and making it easier to start a business.

4. Strengthening social protection systems – Improving unemployment benefits and other

support programs.

This issue is also a global concern, and each country is developing its own strategies to

reduce youth unemployment.

Governments need to revise economic policies and improve labor market conditions to

reduce youth unemployment. Increasing job opportunities, improving working conditions, and

providing competitive skills to young people will help ensure the social stability of society.

Youth unemployment is a significant issue that poses a great threat to the future of society.

It affects not only the personal lives of young people but also the economic and social

development of the entire community. To reduce unemployment, it is necessary to improve the

education system, create job opportunities, and promote entrepreneurship. By ensuring that young

people have access to employment, we can pave the way for a new stage of social stability and

development.
