Analysis of the results of treatment of secondary glaucoma in children associated with retinopathy of premature

This article presents an analysis of the results of hypotensive surgery for secondary glaucoma in children after complex treatment of retinopathy of prematurity. The authors of the article analyzed the surgical treatment of 5 (10 eyes) children aged I month to I year in the eye department of the clinic of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute with ROP associated with glaucoma. Analysis of the causes of eyeball enucleation

Eye enucleation is a surgical procedure involving the removal of the eyeball. According to the literature, enucleation has shown a clear downward trend in recent years. This is due to the widespread introduction of new treatment methods, primarily antibiotics, as well as timely assistance and improved methods of primary wound treatment in eye injuries. However, despite the advances in the treatment of eye diseases, eye removal is still a common operation. According to the literature, from 7.5 to 8 thousand patients need eye removal during one year. In the domestic literature on children, we were unable to find any work devoted to the analysis of the causes of enucleation, while this issue is of great practical interest.

Analysis of postoperative complications in children after cataract extraction with iol implantation

Congenital cataract (CC) is clouding of the lens of the eye, leading to various vision disorders up to its complete loss. Congenital cataracts occur with a frequency of 1-6 per 10,000 births. It is believed that up to 25% of all cases of congenital cataracts arc hereditary. Modem surgical techniques combining microincision cataract extraction and primary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation have improved cataract outcomes in children. According to various authors, inflammatory reactions of the eyes in response to surgical trauma and IOL implantation during early congenital cataract (CC) surgery occur in 5.5-48% of cases.
