Abstract

This article discusses the contribution of the great scholar Abu Nasr Al-Farabi to the theory of Eastern music. His scientific and philosophical views on music, the content of the work "The Big Book of Music", as well as Al-Farabi's place in the history of musicology are analyzed. The article reveals Al-Farabi's influence on the development of musicology not only in his time, but also in subsequent centuries
