Graduates of four Presidential Schools will receive A-level certificates (certificate of advanced
secondary education), which make it possible to enroll in universities in Great Britain and other
countries of the world, along with local certificates of general secondary education. Presidential
schools in Nukus, Khiva, Namangan, Tashkent and Nurafshon have simultaneously successfully
passed accreditation of the Cambridge Assessment International Education and received the
status of Cambridge International School.
Obtaining the status of Cambridge International School confirms that the curriculum and
examination process of the Presidential Schools in Nukus, Khiva, Namangan, Tashkent meets
the requirements and standards of the Cambridge curriculum.
A-Level is a curriculum, which envisaged by the British education system and leads to the
receipt of a certificate of complete secondary education. Based on the results of their studies,
students take exams and receive an A-level certificate. After that, certificate holders can go to
university to get their first education (bachelor’s degree). Based on the results of the A-Level

exams, the admissions committees of universities judge the knowledge and skills of the applicant
and make a decision on enrollment in the university.
The Agency for Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools (PIIMA) under
the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the administration of Presidential
Schools began preparations for Cambridge Assessment International Education accreditation in
early 2020.
The accreditation process includes several stages. At the last stage, Cambridge Assessment
International Education specialists visit the educational institution and make a decision on
accreditation. In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, British experts conducted a “virtual
visits” to the Presidential Schools and gave a positive opinion on the accreditation of educational
institutions.
- Obtaining the Cambridge Assessment International Education accreditation confirms that the
students of the Presidential Schools receive knowledge in accordance with high standards. A
bonus for our students will be that, based on the results of the exams, they can receive an A-level
certificate, which enables our graduates to enroll in universities in Great Britain and other
countries,” noted the director of the PIIMA Agency Khilola Umarova. It should be noted that
interested persons, who study outside the system of PIIMA, can also register and take part in A-
level exams, organized by the Presidential schools. Also, Presidential Schools have the
opportunity to conduct International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams
for students, who graduated from grade 9.
CIS accreditation shows that the school has achieved high standards of professional
performance in international education and has a commitment to continuous improvement.
The award of accreditation shows that the school:
is devoted to its mission and vision for students;
has thought deeply about the services it offers to students, family and community;
invests the time and resources for validation from a globally-recognized
accreditation authority;
focuses on the quality of teaching, student learning, as well as student
safeguarding and well-being;
is committed to the development of the students’ global citizenship;
has a philosophy of education suitable for its students;
promises only what it can deliver;
is open to regular evaluation by its own school community and peer evaluators;
constantly seeks improvement in all areas of the school;
plans strategically for the future.
Higher education institutions recognize that a CIS accredited school meets globally-
recognized standards and promotes the values and skills that they are seeking in students.
CIS International Accreditation is recognized by various government and non-
government agencies in several countries.
Over 500 of the top universities in the world are part of the CIS membership community.
They recognize and value the mark of CIS International Accreditation, targeting students
who graduate from CIS accredited schools for admission to their institutions. This
verifies CIS International Accreditation as a mark of high quality, and therefore, endorses
