This article explores the use of task-based learning as an effective approach to enhance students’ practical language competence. Unlike traditional methods that focus primarily on grammar and vocabulary memorization, task-based learning emphasizes meaningful communication through the completion of authentic tasks. The study examines the theoretical foundations, types of tasks, classroom implementation strategies, and the impact of task-based learning on students’ communicative abilities. Findings indicate that students who participate in task-based activities demonstrate significant improvements in spoken and written communication, fluency, accuracy, and confidence. Additionally, task-based learning promotes learner autonomy, critical thinking, collaboration, and motivation. The article also discusses potential challenges and offers pedagogical recommendations for integrating task-based learning into language curricula. Overall, task-based learning is shown to be a sustainable and learner-centered approach that effectively bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical language use.References
