THE USE OF REFLEXOLOGY (SU JOK) WITH TOXICOSIS IN
PREGNANT WOMEN

Relevance:
Toxicosis is one of the most common and urgent problems of modern obstetrics.
Toxicosis leads to significant deterioration in the quality of life of the patient, often reducing or disabling.
This pathology occurs in 50-90% of pregnant women. In addition, toxicosis can cause a threat, termination
of pregnancy, and even miscarriage.
Purpose of the study:
To study the treatment of toxicosis by reflexology (Su Jok). Assess the
results of the study. To draw a conclusion given the effectiveness of the treatment of toxicosis by the method
of oriental medicine.
Materials and methods:
The study was conducted in the city maternity hospital number 6, in the
gynecology department for 5 months. The study involved 145 pregnant women. All patients were divided
into 3 groups, according to the severity of the course (mild, moderate, severe) Su Jok therapy is a method
of working out points of the hands and feet using a needle and an injector. From 5 to 10 days, acupuncture
was performed daily. The first group included 83 people - 57.2%, the second group of 36 people - 24.8%,
and the third group of 16 people - 11%.
Research results:
After acupuncture according to the method (Su Jok) in pregnant women with
toxicosis included in the first group of 83 people - 57.2%, there was a cessation of nausea, appetite,
improved nutrition, and full recovery. In 2 groups of 36 people - 24.8%, 29 people - 20% received a full
recovery, and the remaining 6 people - 4.1 needed a second course of treatment. In 3 groups of 16 people,
a complete improvement in vital activity was observed in 10 people - 6.9%, and the remaining 6 patients -
4.1% needed 2 courses of treatment, as well as complex treatment with medications.
Conclusion:
In the course of the study, it was possible to identify the invaluable value of Su Jok
therapy in the treatment and prevention of toxicosis, while the threat to the fetus is minimal, compared with
drug treatment. Su Jok therapy has become one of the most effective and natural methods of treatment to
cope with toxicosis.
