The article examines Joyce’s development as an author and his changing use of the epistolary form. Joyce is interested in representing character subjectivity and uses free indirect thought and focalization to do so. Joyce often focalizes through and reports on the thoughts of a single character, replicating some of the traditional functions of the letter in fiction.

We focus on the concept of "key competencies". Core competencies can be defined as those that every person in society should have and that could be applied in different situations. Thus, key competencies are characterized as universal and applicable in different situations of competence.

In this article, a structural and semantic analysis of phraseological units consisting of anthroponomic components of English and Uzbek languages has thoroughly been given.

It helps to spread and popularize the sample of oral folklore in performance. However, if the version performed by a skilled performer with high artistic skills is not recorded, after the death of the creator, this very example is doomed to disappear. "... reflects the fundamental cultural values, because it is based on the national-cultural outlook ”[1, 91-b.].

The communicative strategy of speech is a method of goal realization. It includes the selection of facts, evidence and a certain degree of illumination in order to have an intellectual, emotional and emotional impact on the addressee, that is, the listener. That is, it is a whole set of speech activities aimed at a communicative goal. Communicative strategies reflect social models approved by society. They interpret speech as a mediator that connects the individual's level of knowledge with verbal and pragmatic motivation.
