In the light of scientific research, a deficiency of carnitine is observed in newborn children, which leads to disruption of the process of fatty acid transfer into the mitochondria. In groups of children from 60 newborns with various pathologies of the central nervous system (CNS), carnitine was included in the treatment; on the
basis of clinical laboratory and instrumental methods of research, positive dynamics was established at a faster time with the restoration of normal activity of mitochondria succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) and alpha glycer-
ophosphate dehydrogenase (αGDPH).
