This article discusses the historical roots of the emergence of documents and documentation, and analyzes the lexical meanings of the word document and its history in a step-by-step manner. It analyzes the roots of documentation dating back to the ancient Sogdian period, the types of official documents (label, decree) in the Middle Ages and khanates, and the stages of centralized standardization in the Soviet era. It highlights the fact that documentation is a strategic tool that increases the efficiency of state administration.References
