Abstract.
Literary texts, along with many linguistic features, also reflect social and
cultural aspects. Literature is considered the content of human life, and therefore literary
translation is one of the main methods of communication between cultures. However, translating
literary texts is not an easy task, because in this process the translator must be aware of both
languages and the cultures of both peoples. Therefore, translators must be aware of the social
and speech-related aspects of language.
Key words: literary translation, translator, literary texts, cultural barriers, authenticity,
linguocultural differences.

The work “Night and Day” by Cholpon is an important example of Uzbek literature. This
work is noteworthy not only for its content, but also for its linguocultural aspects. The translation
process requires special approaches to preserve the content and cultural context of the work.
How the specific aspects, customs and terms of Uzbek culture are changed in the translation into
English affects the pride and persuasiveness of the translation.
If we consider the work as a vivid example of literature reflecting the culture of the
Uzbek people, its cultural context plays an important role in studying the work “Night and Day”.

This work provides information about the customs, traditions and lifestyle of the Uzbek
people. When translated into English, how these aspects are preserved, as well as their
relationship with the environment, is analyzed.
The work "Night and Day", with its rich culture and unique historical context, is one of
the important examples of Uzbek literature. This work, written by Cholpon, embodies not only
the uniqueness of art, but also intercultural differences. The English translations of the work
show those differences even more clearly. Each translation reflects the cultural environment,
language and literary traditions that emerged in its time and region.
The English translations of the work "Night and Day" analyze the issue of intercultural
differences and their study in the educational process. The translation process helps to know and
understand specific cultural codes and values, and also shows how important it is in preserving
the uniqueness of this work. For teachers and students, studying intercultural differences helps to
understand not only languages, but also people's ways of thinking, values and ways of life.
Therefore, studying Cholpon's work in English becomes not only a literary experience,
but also an important tool for intercultural communication. Cultural terms and linguistic gaps
should be studied in translation. In this case, when symbols specific to Uzbek culture (for
example, terms such as “osh” or “barakalla”) are changed to English, their semantic meaning
may change. How the translator needs to present these terms in the social and cultural context of
his language is analyzed
Differences in Translations and Their Reasons
While studying the differences between the different English translations of “Night and
Day”, we will talk about how each translator’s culture, language, and experiences shape the
content of the work. In this process, we will discuss the concepts and sensations in Uzbek and
English as reviewers, the origin of the translation from the linguistic hearth, and the importance
of localization.
The diversity of languages and cultures and the need for communication are the reasons
why translation is a very effective factor in the exchange of communication in human life.
Therefore, the differences between different nations play an important role in the process
of literary translation. In this regard, it can be said that language and culture are similar to each
other, closely related to each other, and both must be taken into account in the translation
process.
Translating a text from one language to another is a linguistic process. Before the 1980s,
linguists paid very little attention to the connection between language theory and translation.

ResearchBib IF - 11.01, ISSN: 3030-3753, Volume 2 Issue 4
Because such a connection was not made before, and translation theory developed
slowly, one of the reasons for the slowness of this process is that linguists did not apply
linguistic phenomena to translation. Translators use the theory of text and semantics in language
theory. Linguistic theory is very closely related to translation theory, and it is practically applied
in the translation process.
In the English translations of "Night and Day", linguo-cultural aspects are important,
taking into account the cultural context. The translation process reflects not only the possibilities
of language, but also the interrelationships of cultures and the individual approach of each
translator. Through the translation of this work, the interrelationships of historical, cultural and
linguistic aspects are shown and the importance of this information in the process of transmitting
it to the new generation is determined.
