MULTINOMIAL ECONOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF NON-SCHOOL ELEMENTS AFFECTING EDUCATIONAL NEEDINESS AND INSTRUCTION IN ALGERIA

This study investigates the impact of non-school elements on educational neediness and instructional quality in Algeria using a multinomial econometric methodology. Recognizing that factors outside the formal education system can significantly influence student outcomes, this research aims to quantify and analyze how variables such as socio-economic status, family background, and community resources affect educational experiences and needs.


The study employs a multinomial logit model to examine the relationships between non-school factors and various dimensions of educational neediness and instructional effectiveness. By incorporating data on socio-economic indicators, parental education levels, and access to community resources, the analysis provides insights into how these elements contribute to disparities in educational outcomes and instructional quality.


Key findings reveal that socio-economic status and parental education have substantial effects on students' educational needs and the quality of instruction they receive. For instance, students from lower socio-economic backgrounds are more likely to experience higher levels of educational neediness and face challenges in accessing quality instruction. Conversely, students with more supportive family environments and greater community resources tend to benefit from enhanced educational experiences. The research highlights the importance of addressing non-school factors to improve educational equity and instructional effectiveness. By identifying the key non-school elements that influence educational outcomes, the study offers valuable recommendations for policymakers and educators aiming to mitigate disparities and enhance the overall quality of education in Algeria. The findings underscore the need for comprehensive strategies that consider both in-school and out-of-school factors in the pursuit of educational excellence.

BEYОND GRАMMАR АND VОCАBULАRY: А HОLISTIC АPPRОАCH TО TEАCHING ENGLISH

The аpplicаtiоn оf hоlistic аpprоаch in EFL clаssrооm hаs been аpprоved due tо its аdvаntаge tо imprоve speаking аnd listening skills аs well аs leаrning reаl life skills. This study explоres the limitаtiоns оf linguisticаlly fоcused аpprоаch аnd prоmоtes а mоre cоmprehensive viewpоint thаt tаkes cоmmunicаtive cоmpetence, culturаl sensitivity, аnd prаcticаl аpplicаtiоns intо аccоunt. The pаrticipаnts оf the study included 50 Uzbek EFL pre-intermediаte students selected thrоugh testing in аccоrdаnce with Internаtiоnаl English Lаnguаge Testing System (IELTS) criteriа. They were divided intо twо grоups (25 students fоr eаch) аccоrding tо their test results: experimentаl аnd cоntrоl grоup. The hоlistic аpprоаch hаs been аpplied fоr the first grоup, while the lаtter grоup оf students cоntinued with trаditiоnаl teаching methоds. The experiment cоntinued fоr twо mоnths аnd Reаding, listening, speаking, writing аnd reаl-life skills hаve been checked by cоmprehensive tests аnd interviews аt the end оf the periоd, which оnce mоre demоnstrаted the оutperfоrmаnce оf the fоrmer grоup whо were expоsed tо hоlistic teаching prоcedures. This study hаs аlsо shоwed thаt teаchers cаn encоurаge leаrners tо becоme cоnfident аnd effective cоmmunicаtоrs in English, bоth within аnd beyоnd the clаssrооm.

LINGUOCULTURAL ANALYSIS OF PAREMIOLOGICAL DICTIONARIES IN KARAKALPAK AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

Language is a powerful tool that reflects the cultural identity and worldview of its speakers. Proverbs, in particular, are rich linguistic expressions that encapsulate the collective wisdom, traditions, and values of a culture. The study of proverbs, known as paremiology, provides invaluable insights into the way different societies perceive the world and convey their experiences. In this article, we will conduct a linguocultural analysis of paremiological dictionaries in the Karakalpak and English languages. Paremiological dictionaries serve as vital resources for documenting and preserving the proverbial wisdom of a culture. Through a comparative approach, this study will examine the linguistic features and cultural meanings embedded in the proverbs of both languages, highlighting how proverbs function as a bridge between language and culture. The Karakalpak and English languages represent two distinct linguistic and cultural traditions. By analyzing proverbs from these two languages, we aim to uncover the similarities and differences in how they express values, beliefs, and social norms.

In this article, it is said that most of the folklore plots, motifs, characters and images in the classic Karakalpak poetry of the 19th century were transformed into written literature through creative methods. In the work of the Karakalpak poets of the 19th century, the tradition of creating mythological plots and images characteristic of folklore was successfully used in the works of the Karakalpak poets Kunkhoja, Ajiniyaz and Berdak. The features of mythological interpretation present in the works of Karakalpak poets of this period are divided into two groups as religious mythology that entered before and through Islam.

FUNCTIONS OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN UZBEK BUSINESS DISCOURSE

This article explores the functions of phraseological units (PUs) in Uzbek business discourse, shedding light on their role in cultural and linguistic contexts. Phraseological units, which include idioms, collocations, and proverbs, are essential in conveying nuanced meanings, expressing cultural values, and enhancing communication efficacy in business interactions. The research employs a combination of continuous sampling, systematization, component analysis, and discourse analysis methods, supported by a review of both domestic and international literature on phraseology and business communication. Findings reveal that in Uzbek business discourse, PUs serve multiple functions: they reflect cultural values, such as respect and community orientation; facilitate indirect and polite communication; and employ metaphors drawn from traditional contexts like agriculture. Specific examples include idioms and proverbs that emphasize hard work, strategic thinking, and resilience. The study concludes that PUs are integral to effective business communication in Uzbekistan, enhancing rapport, persuasion, and understanding. The ongoing integration of traditional phraseology with modern business practices continues to evolve, underscoring the dynamic nature of Uzbek business discourse.

We utilized explanatory dictionaries in both languages to define key clothing terms and analyze their social and symbolic roles. The results demonstrate how English traditional attire evolved from functional to ceremonial use, while Uzbek clothing retains a strong connection to national identity and craftsmanship. The study highlights the significance of national clothing as a form of cultural expression, emphasizing how it shapes and reflects the identity of both nations.
