In the databases of evidence-based medicine, studies that study the effectiveness of taking vitamin-mineral complexes indicate a high risk of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) as a prevention (primary prevention). The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of lutein-zeaxanthin vitamin-mineral complex containing preparations in individuals with a high risk of AMD for the prevention of the disease. The material of the study was 98 individuals (196 eyes) from the 1st (main) group with the highest risk of developing AMD, who agreed to participate in the prevention of AMD and 90 individuals (180 eyes) from the 2nd (control) group, for various reasons refused to take the drug, but agreed to participate in condition monitoring. The follow-up period was 3 years. The results of the observation showed that in persons of the 1st group, there was a stability in the indices of visual acuity and field of vision, ophthalmoscopic and tomographic picture of the macular zone during the entire period of observation. Whereas in persons of the 2nd group by the 3rd year of observation, visual acuity worsened by 2.5 times, the total boundaries of the peripheral visual field narrowed by 47.10, relative and absolute scotomas appeared (p<0.05). The appearance of drusen was observed and in 8 eyes (4.44%) a diagnosis of age-related macular degeneration of the retina, early stage, was made. Conclusions. The proposed scheme of drug prevention of persons with the highest risk of developing AMD (Group 1) showed a significantly positive effect on the functional state of the retina, leads to a stable preservation of visual functions during 3 years of observation and prevents the occurrence of AMD in 100% of individuals.
The aim of the study was to study the possibility of using the electronic program for predicting the risk of occurrence and early detection of AMD developed by us. The program is used by 120 persons. 53 (44.2%) of them were diagnosed with "Macular Dystrophy", 27 (22.5%) - "Early stage of macular degeneration (AREDS category 2)", 22 (18.3%) - "Intermediate stage of macular degeneration (category 3) AREDS)", 18 (15%) - "Late stage of macular degeneration (category 4 AREDS) ".Thus, the electronic program we developed can be used as a method for predicting development, early detection of AMD and providing recommendations for further tactics.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a degenerative, progressive disease of the macular region of the retina, which is the leading cause of central vision loss in older people in developed countries. Purpose of the study. to study the incidence rates of AMD in the Republic of Uzbekistan in the context of regions. Material and methods: based on the data of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, data from the reporting documentation of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Eye Microsurgery, a retrospective analysis of the dynamics of indicators of general and primary morbidity of AMD for the period from 2010 to 2019 in the context of regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the city of Tashkent was carried out and statistical methods. Research results.Аnalysis of the overall morbidity showed that relative to 2010, the indicators had some downward trend - in 2011 - 15.09, in 2012 - 14.73, but since 2013 they have been growing and in 2019 increased by 7.25 per 100 thousand population relative to 2010 (from 16.30 to 23.55 per 100 thousand population). An analysis of the primary incidence of AMD indicates that the rates are steadily growing from 3.60 in 2010 to 8.38 per 100 thousand population in 2019 (by 4.78). Conclusions. For the first time, the indicators of the incidence of AMD in the Republic of Uzbekistan for a 10 year period are presented, which indicate a high level, in comparison with developed countries, a growth trend and uneven numbers in the regions, which requires organizational and other decisions.
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a chronic progressive disease characterized by damage to the Central photoactive zone of the retina. AMD is one of the most common eye diseases that threaten significant vision loss and disability in people over 60 years of age. Currently, several fundamental theories of the pathogenesis of senile macular degeneration have been identified: primary aging of the retinal pigment epithelium and Bruch's membrane, oxidative stress, which consists in damage to the eye tissues due to an imbalance in the system of free radical formation and antioxidant protection, damage to the eye products, primary genetic defects, and pathological changes in the blood supply to the eyeball. AMD is a multifactorial disease, and the approach to its treatment should be comprehensive. In modem ophthalmology, bioregulatory therapy is a promising direction of pathogenetic influence. In this regard, the drug of the peptide structure "Retinalamin"is of particular interest. However, drug therapy can not always provide compensation for impaired metabolism, and its results are unstable, so physiotherapy becomes particularly relevant. Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) is one of the most effective and promising non-drug treatments for AMD.
Research purpose: to study the effectiveness of a complex treatment of patients with age-i macular degeneration (AMD). Material and methods: a complex therapy of 104 patients (206 eyes) with AMD has been cone Mean age of patients made up 68.8±6.2 years old. Along with a traditional medicinal treatment Citicoline and Ginkgo Biloba w ere included. Results and discussion: application of the proposed method leads to a persistent increase of functions, improvement of hemodynamic indicators, as well as multiplies the bio-potentials’ amj of retina reflecting the functional activity in the macular area, and improvement of the retina sta

The purpose of the study is to analyze the incidence rates of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in the Republic of Uzbekistan for the period 2010-2019, by region. Methods: the analysis of the dynamics of indicators of the general and primary incidence of AMD over a 10-year period was carried out, by copying and statistical methods. Results: over the period of study, the indicators of general and primary morbidity in the regions of the republic are uneven and tend to steadily increase. Conclusions: The overall incidence in Uzbekistan for the period 2010-2019. increased by 1.8 times and in 2019 amounted to 24.45 per 100,000 population. The primary incidence over this period increased by 2.3 times and in 2019 amounted to 8.38 per 100,000 population. The incidence in the regions of the republic varies considerably, which necessitates a number of measures to improve the quality of medical care.
As a goal, we set the study of the effectiveness of the use of an electronic program for predicting the risk of occurrence and early detection of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). During the study, to determine the stage of AMD, we used the classification proposed by AREDS (Age-Related Eye Disease Study) [8]. Treatment of patients with AMD remains a complex problem of modern ophthalmology. The program we offer, in our opinion, allows us to clearly and completely (within the framework of the task) fix the necessary information, both about the patient and about his condition.
