As Barbara Pizziconi notes, numerous studies in the field of linguistic politeness, starting from the mid-70s of the 20th century, i.e. since the birth of the later famous theories of R. Lakoff, J. Leach, as well as the universal theory of linguistic politeness by P. Brown and S. Levinson, play a very important role in modern pragmatic works. Nevertheless, although the number of publications on this issue is steadily growing, there is no single, generally accepted definition of the social and communicative phenomenon of politeness. There is also no unity among scientists in understanding the very nature of linguistic politeness (Pizziconi 2006: 706).

Basing on variety of sources, the author comes to conclusion that when writing the drama "Tamburlaine the Great" Marlowe did not address to the historical sources deserving confidences and in the result the drama as a whole does not correspond to historical truth in sufficient degree.

PRAGMATIC VALUES IN PRONUNCIATION OF PHONETICALLY CHANGED WORDS

In the pronunciation of some words of the English and Uzbek languages, additional phono-stylistic meanings appear. Such meanings are more common in the pronunciation of phonetically modified words. Words with phonetic changes appear as two, that is, combinatorial and positional changes. The study reveals the phonopragmatic features inherent in some of both of the above mentioned phonetically inflected words, their place in the culture of speech and stylistic features.


Judgments are also made about pragmatic, phonopragmatic features in the pronunciation of words, the meanings perceived from them. Relationships and additional meanings resulting from phonopragmatics are analyzed using comparative examples taken from the two languages. Such an analysis plays an important role in the study and understanding of the subtle facets of phonostylistics.

This article shows the ways of implementing the concept of "tolerance" in the English-language media, that is, in the press. The importance of this phenomenon in world development, the importance of mass media in the formation of the community is emphasized. The formation of a tolerant consciousness in people, getting rid of negative stereotypes is also discussed. In media texts, tolerance is expressed by various linguistic means and ways of constructing a text, many of which are already perceived as stable symbols. To achieve tolerance in the media, various strategies and tactics, lexical, morphological and syntactic means are used: euphemisms, exclamations, negations, stimuli.
