The objective of this manuscript is to theoretically and empirically evaluate the application of planning techniques and associated contingency strands in the strategic management processes. Planning itself is the process of setting objectives and the decision of how they are to be achieved. The end product of planning is a plan irrespective of its continuous nature. The paper examined the relevance and characteristics of planning, patterns of planning, and contingency planning. The planning techniques dealt with in this paper that would ensure effective strategic management feasibility include forecasting, both quantitative and qualitative perspectives, with relevant examples; including forecasting usefulness, general purpose of forecasting and types. Other techniques of planning and applications explored and applications in the study are budgeting, scheduling and sequencing, in addition to types of schedules and techniques that would statistically enhance strategic management processes feasibility. The adoption of relevant planning techniques and the feasibility is therefore recommended. The study also recommends the need for contingency plans with time and space.
This study was designed to examine planning of school meetings as a correlate to principals’ administrative effectiveness in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The study was guided by two objectives which examine the relationship between planning school g meeting goals and principals’ administrative effectiveness and the benefits of planning school meetings on principals’ administrative effectiveness. This is supported by the goal setting theory. The descriptive survey research design was used for the study which allowed the researcher to utilize both qualitative and quantitative data. The population of the study comprises Secondary Schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The target population constituted 192 secondary Schools; that is public, confessional and lay private secondary schools in Fako, Manyu Meme and Ndian division in the South West Region of Cameroon. The sample population for the study was made up of 132 principals. Both the stratified and purposive sampling technique was used for the study. The instrument use for data collection was a questionnaire (closed and open ended questions). Data from the close ended questions were analysed using SPSS 23.0, with the aid of descriptive and inferential statistical tools while open ended question were analysed thematically. The Spearman’s rho was used to test the research hypotheses formulated in the study. Majority 76.0% of principals accepted to carry out adequate planning of school meeting goals and a majority 81.1% of principals accepted that planning school meetings goal is of benefit to the principal. The hypothesis statistics showed that there is a significant, positive and moderate relationship between planning of school meetings by principals and administrative effectiveness (R-value=0.425**, p-value= 0.000< 0.05). The positive nature of correlation value implies that principals’ administrative effectiveness is more likely to increase when they adequately plan for school meetings. In addition to existing training programs of school principals, more programs should be redesigned to meet the needs of principals and to also train them on how to effectively plan and manage school meetings to foster trust and confidence of the society as well as administrative effectiveness.
The article analyzes the theoretical and legal
foundations of forecasting and planning of lawmaking process, including legal regulation of this process. The interdependence and the different aspects of forecasting and planning are presented on the basis of today’s realities and foreign experience. In addition, proposals to improve the theoretical and organizational foundations of the forecasting and planning of lawmaking process are put forward.
This article focuses on the concept and essence of environmental planning based on analysis of content of the concept of planning, which is the most important structural element of the economical-legal mechanism of environmental policy, and author's definition was developed. The study was carried out to investigate “principals planning skills and its influence on sustainable Quality Assurance in Government Technical Colleges in the South West Region of Cameroon. The researcher made used of mixed method with sequential Exploratory design. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire and interview guide. The sample was made up of 392 teachers and 11 principals proportionately selected from four Divisions (Fako, Meme, Ndian and Manyu). Data was analysed using inferential and descriptive statistics. The descriptive statistical tools used were frequency count, percentages and multiple responses options which aimed at calculating the summary of findings. To test the hypothesis, the Regression analysis was used. On the other, the qualitative data derived from interview were analysed using the thematic analysis approach with the aid of themes, and quotations. After verifying the hypotheses of the study, analysis showed that principals’ planning skills (β=0.275, p=0.011, <0.05) are positively and significantly associated with sustainable quality assurance. Based on the findings, it was recommended that; principals prioritize the development and enhancement of their planning skills in aspects such as attending workshops or pursuing relevant training programs to promote sustainable quality assurance.
The purpose of this article is the development of urban planning policy in rural settlements of
the Republic of Uzbekistan. When developing rural settlements, it is necessary to take into account the possibility of
their reasonable functional use, sanitary and hygienic, water, local resources and environmental conditions, as well
as projected future changes in natural and other conditions. All this information should be reflected in the urban planning documentation, which is developed for each specific site, depending on the intended use.
Initiatives to integrate renewable energy into urban planning and daily life require community engagement and participation. The level and kind of community involvement and participation, however, varies between communities and nations. In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where initiatives to include renewable energy were put into place, this research investigates the lessons that may be learnt by including the community in such activities. Case studies, literature reviews, and comparative data analysis are all included in the study methodology. The findings demonstrate that initiatives fusing sustainable urban planning and renewable energy have raised community involvement in Tashkent. To promote transparency, inclusion, and capacity building, however, more work must be done. The essay makes several proposals for further research, which policymakers should take into account.
